Yep I raised the same point as logically you'd think that'd make sense as the boat sails past Southampton! But, no, I'm told that the car goes to Bremerhaven, then to Southampton only to be held until the UK launch.

I expect it is done to minimise the time in dock overall and pick up North America destined cars, especially with the current worldwide shipping capacity issues.

that's probably because your car is going to a different port/coast. West Coast cars transit through a totally different port out of MX I believe.

RoRo ship traffic out of MX is likely less than out of EU and/to/from the U.S, so his car may have been at the right place at the right time, while yours is awaiting a vessel in a different port that is handling East Coast/part of Midwest cars.

My car (HEA) was produced on February and 15 days ago was still sunbathing and drinking tequilas on Veracruz Port 🤡
