I got a jb4 before I even got my car on allocation. Emailed burger and it does work for the g42 m240. You can't void a warranty but a warranty claim. Yes bmw can see that you have a jb4 and get flagged but it doesn't void your warranty claim if it's not related to something regarding your ecu like if u throw a rod. So for example if your window motor goes out then that has nothing to do with the ecu being tuned

I wish there was because the car is just too quiet. A catless downpipe would give it some sound, but don't want the CEL. |

If you flash your ECU, Aka bm3 or jb4, your ecu will be flagged and bmw na can see this by running basic diagnostics. Piggyback chips are the only way to go and you best be sure to not scuff or fully replace the pins when removed and going in for service. Friend of mine uses racechip on his m5 comp for this reason.
I believe there were flashes for the g80 but the update has made that null and void and relocked it. |

The only way to flash a G8X (as of today) is to send the ECU to FEMTO in Russia and have it cloned to a tunable ECU. If for some reason you took that ECU for the recall and had it updated it could be unlocked again by bench unlock. Wouldn't recommend taking a car with a cloned ECU in for a recall though |

Are you referring to the catalytic converter? Even a catted downpipe will net some volume. It's just not much. May have to wait for an axel back, or could just go for the muffler delete 🤔

I would say catted DP or an axel back. I lean towards the former because it can also provide performance gains, but some states (emissions) or dealerships (if you take your car for service) may get pissy. Axel back may get you some sound, but should effect little else.

That was my plan as alot of b58 forums seem to have stated that. Wanted to go catless dp and jb4. |

spacer sometimes work and doesn't depends on the driving style. if you drive normal the spacer will work if you drive aggressive it will throw a CEL after a few 100 miles. i don't have either and my cel comes on twice a day with the JB4. i just learned to live with it. i even took my car to BMW for service and told them i have a catless downpipe and to ignore the cel, they did all the other work needed and didn't even give me any issues.
