Version is in the lower right of the screen. When updating I actually watch my laptop wifi.. attached to the unit, hit update, it starts running, then cando ssid drops and comes back. When it comes back I know the unit is done then reconnect with my laptop and refresh the page. Boom.

Hi MASHCT

Yes, it appears yours was one of two units sent out with a production issue which prevents Associations from saving (refer to my email of May 29 :-)) ...and from getting a proper confirmation of a successful software update.

Your update completed at 10:39:03, based on our logs. If you are connected to the canDO network, simply refresh the web page and all should be right, bottom right should show 1.5.3, saving Associations will work.

Sorry about that. We also reached out to the other customer affected by this issue.

Ok, I did a screen refresh and it shows version 1.5.3 now. I reset everything and redid the M1/M2 stuff and it works. Locked the car, restarted it - the M1/M2 buttons now do their thing! Thanks man!

Call for opinions

Hello canDO+ folks (and others)! This is cross-posted from M3 forum.

We've mapped out all AC functions, but need your opinion on what's actually useful. Should we consider taking a snapshot of current settings and create a toggle mechanism? We are concerned with not making things more complex than they need to be.

We can add

Climate On/Off

Sync On/Off (should we?)

Max AC On/Off

Upper body temp (should we add ALL possible values? Or just the extremes?)

Driver/Passenger seat heating (should we add full range or just Off/Max?)

Driver/Passenger Temp - we can set specific temperatures, is it worth it?

Ventilation speed

Could look like this in Actions. Would you rather we did increments and decrements instead of fixed values?

Thanks!

The UI drop down boxes are getting big so maybe just the necessities?
or a third sub-menu option?

You're right.

Too.

Many.

Options!

We'll have to break the Actions apart.

Now that's so much more intuitive, I'd love that.

Enabled Sport mode dash - have an issue with BT music

Howdy canDO_Stef & other users. Wondering if you've heard of this and/or have a possible solution.

I enabled the M1/M2 button function that changes the dash to sport mode. LOVE IT! But when I press either M1 or M2, it pauses the music. The only way to get the music to restart is to unlock my phone & press the play button on the PlayerPro music app.

So you know how I am listening to my music - Android (Galaxy S22 Ultra), Bluetooth audio & use the PlayerPro app.

Also - wondering if ASD is controlled through the CANBUS & if we can add functionality to disable it with engine start. I have it totally disabled ASD per Bimmercode coding, but it still comes on. Have to press the button to turn it off. (Supposedly you can totally disable it via Bimmercode - and I did all of the steps, everything is "nichactiv" but I am still getting ASD engine BS noise.)

Hello MASHCT !

So the only action you have on M1 or M2 is M Sport Mode and pressing either pauses the music on your BT connected phone? That sounds really odd.

Does this happen when you use the built-in controls to toggle M Sport Mode (eg, using the button + display)?

What if you remove the association altogether? Does the problem disappear?

Please let me know. Also, feel free to reach out to me directly at support@cando.plus so we may try some troubleshooting steps together.

Now, as far as ASD, unfortunately, I don't think it can be controlled through the CAN bus...

Howdy Stef! Just sent you an email. Forgot to mention - yes, when I remove the association entirely, then press either M1 or M2, the music does not pause.

CanDO+ firmware just updated and it’s a good one.
Small issue I have is when I use my phone to add acocations it’ll add two entries at once, like I’m double pressing on every command.

Thank you again.

Ah, that might have slipped by, sorry!

Can you tell me what model phone you're using? It seems it might be sending both a "click" AND a "touch" event, possibly leading to what you are seeing.

Thanks!

MASHCT Thanks for also getting back! Glad you sorted out the issue.

As I responded privately, all canDO+ does when it triggers the M Sport Display is send the same message on the CAN bus that the native iDrive controls do, so what you observed is really weird!

canDO+ version 1.6 is amazing! I feel that my M2 which came with a way higher number of HP than interior buttons, is now complete. I can do everything I'd like to do with buttons now, no need for touchscreen or menus.

Links to my posts (don't want to take over here):

Link to all associations and actions, canDO+ v1.6

My Current canDO+ Actions

Would love to see ideas others have for creative use of canDO and actions you've written. Cheers, Hank
