nobody wants to hear that the system is broken when your team wins. when another rag picked the ITS over the M2 though the kvetching was epic guess i should just be thankful that BMW PR has gotten MT to prop up my resale value

I'd like to see videos of the GMC Canyon AT4X AEV, it was one of the finalists and i'm almost positive, it's my next vehicle (Keeping the G87 obviously, but i need a truck). It's so badass.

I'd say no. I don't have any insight into automotive marketing, but I do have insight into marketing in other industries. Marketing departments withing competitive companies are not necessarily equal. In fact, there are some companies that produce excellent products that have very poor marketing departments. It also works the other way around.

No. Read what I wrote. I was specifically responding to the blanket "couldn't we assume all manufacturers" statement. I further said that I have no insight into automotive marketing. Based on my business experience, I have yet to find an industry where all of the marketing BS among companies simply cancels out. Some are simply better than others. I wouldn't extrapolate all this to the assumption BMW bought the result. I'll find out in a couple of months what I think about the 2025 M2.

That's a poor analogy. I believe that my words speak for themselves.

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the M2. It will be the first manual transmission car that I've had with rev matching.

The rev matching is one of my favorite features on my 6mt M2. If you don't like it or want to be all old school doing some heel-toeing you can turn it off.

I did a good job writing. Your failure to comprehend isn't my fault. It's the job of the reader not to assume, overread and extrapolate beyond what is written.

What you said in no way answers my question to the other poster.
I literally said "no" in the first sentence of my reply. That's your answer. I further explained why I said no.

And it just generated confusion as to what you meant (which I still don’t understand, but since you think you’re clear, I don’t need to).
You're the only one who's possibly confused, but I honestly don't think you are. I provided an answer to your question, which I thought was a good one, in the spirit of trying to be helpful where I could be. I'll just avoid doing so in the future.

I've been driving manual transmission cars for 35 years but could never really master the heel-toe thing. Well, a better way to put it is that it didn't seem worth it to me. Sometimes my passengers would disagree. My guess is that having rev matching will make the manual transmission driving experience significantly more enjoyable.

I used to make fun of my friends for using auto rev-match on their manual transmission cars but when I got the manual M2, I admit, I ended up keeping it on. This past weekend I drove a previous gen manual WRX and it was much easier to blip the throttle and rev-match it with everything being so analog. I don't know if it's the CDV (clutch delay value) or everything being electric in general with these newer cars. Back to the topic, the M2 is a whole different level of comfortability + technology + performance + daily usage all in one package so I am not surprised it got PVOTY.

Actually, I was confused by your answer too. But who cares? We're all on the same team here. And despite some saying the magazine editors' choice doesn't matter one iota, I'm happy that they chose the M2 as the winner.

Yeah, there's really nothing to complain about since you can easily disable it, unlike the F87.

My 2018 Camaro 1LE was the first car I had with rev match, and I'll say this - it makes driving on track a LOT easier. I never turned it off in the Camaro, street or track. And of course it's always on with the M2C unless you turn off all the driving aids.

This a great news & a chance for more people to take a look at the M2. It's a very capable coupe!

The manual also has full anti-stall. If you just let the clutch out in first and give it no gas it will not stall. Whether rev-match is on or not.

Like many have noted I've also been driving with rev-match on in the M2 having heel-toed my F80 for 7 years and a Miata for many years before that. These pedals are just off enough to make it not easy, and the blip needs to be much more aggressive in the M2 than the F80. The car is just better at it than I am, and not missing it.

Yes, the first thing I noticed when I started driving my M2 is a bit of numb steering response. I also have Alfa Stelvio and steering feeling and response is way better there. Everything else my M2 is a 🥰

It means something when a handful of the best performance cars in the world are brought together and one is declared a winner. You would have to be wearing a large tinfoil hat to think that Motortrend picked the M2 over big time offerings from Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Ford, Ferrari, etc simply because they were given a free trip or loaner car.
