I really hope I didn't loose wireless charging, it shows on my build online.

I would check your build on the BMW website if you have the vin

I feel like in the check your build threads it was one of the items along with the Sirius that people lost at random

Also see which symbol you have
Ah, just realized I had a video and I can confirm I have no wireless charging. : I Still have no real gripes because there's a USB port there I can use and hide in the panel.

Wireless charging IS a selectable option in the US dealer order entry system (see screenshot). I'm not sure why it's a selectable option for dealers but not an option on the build tool on BMW's website.

I personally did not select it for my build because wireless charging doesn't work if you have a popsocket on your phone, and I find wireless charging to be pretty ineffective anyway. Lightening USB always charges way more effeciently.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get it if you really wanted it OP, when you custom order a car to your exact specs it's pretty disappointing to not get exactly what you ordered/expected, even if it's something most people find to be trivial.

Changes to my "Standard Features"

Placed order 9/2. Build was in "Production Begins" for four weeks. Last week went through "Entering Assembly Line" and "Assembly in Progress", and made it to "Quality Check" last Thursday (11/11). My "Standard Features" now shows "Special Identification". Based on what I've read in the G80 thread saying that "Special Identification 2" means the touch display was deleted, I think in my case it is showing that the passenger lumbar support is deleted.

With my 2020 M240i I found out that wireless charging is more than just charging. Without wireless charging there was no WLAN hotspot (through AT&T). According to the G42 owner's manual, the wireless charging also includes a cell booster, which I assume means allowing the cell phone to use the antenna on the roof.

Maybe you had a phone case or didn't do it the right way? I don't think they will include it in the build and not give any credit for it and just not include it. The icon is for wireless charging otherwise it will just be a plain tray. Please try it again and less us know.

That’s really interesting. No cost option? With all the standard equipment they’ve removed (like Sirius) there was always a credit for the removal. And wireless charging was never listed as a feature in the public marketing, I looked closely at that.

As explained elsewhere, that is just an NFC tray.

Looks like some have it and some don’t.My dealer has another HEA M240i that doesn’t have satellite radio and wireless charging.

I went to take a look at my friends M240i today and his car definitely has the wireless charging option.

Just looked at the specs again on that sapphire black one and you are right. It does have satellite radio and the wireless charger. It does have sensatec seats instead of the leather on the Brooklyn Grey one my friend is getting. They just got an Alpine White M240i that also has the same specs as the Brooklyn Grey car.So you are correct. All of these HEA cars are coming with the wireless charger.

Did you take delivery of your car?

Correct, it's a no-cost option. But is is indeed optionable on the G42. There wouldn't be a credit since they don't give credits for non-standard options.

I personally haven't seen anything that mentions or advertises wireless charging as an available option for the G42, but oddly enough it does seem to be selectable in the dealer ordering entry system.

So really not sure what BMW's deal is as far as wireless charging goes. Maybe they don't want to advertise it in the hopes fewer people select it?

I saw one at the dealership and it didn't have the SiriusXM and HD radio but it did have AM/FM which is better as I don't like getting soaked by SiriusXM. I wouldn't worry about that option as they will all have some sort of radio

I will be unhappy if mine comes thru without SiriusXM and HD. I have many channels I flip to on Sirius and use is exclusively on my annual drive to FL from NJ.

The dealer assures me it is an easy retrofit when they become available. Hope he is right

yes SiriusXM can be a supposedly a fairly simple retro fit... its why BMW is still doing Sat Radio prep & then providing a $350 credit.

We also use SiriusXM a lot in our Vehicles. That said, my bet may cost more to install as dealers love to upcharge. Hopefully BMW puts out Service Bulletin to Dealers how to install the Chips

I don't care about Sirius XM so as long as the car comes with AM/FM I'd be happy. I just don't want a car with no radio at all. I looked at a car at the dealership that has AM/FM but SiriusXM was deleted from the build sheet. I would not take the car from the dealer if I don't get the Apple digital key it's an option I'm excited about, and I have seen it deleted from just a few cars. I have wireless charging on my build sheet and I hope I get it, some people said they got it and some people didn't. It's a very challenging time to buy a car, my order was scheduled for production this last week but didn't start yet.

That is an option...I really like having my Nav turns on the HUD. If I am forced to use Car Play for Sirius, that means I have to have their screen always displayed. Can I set a destination with NAV, then switch to Car Play and still get HUD turns and map on center console? I don't currently have Car Play so not sure all the features. I hope I can still bluetooth IPhone direct to get calls and messages while keeping the rest of the BMW Idrive features available.

Yes, I believe my wifes X5 w/iDrive 7 works this way. I know you can use music, Waze, etc on Carpaly and still toggle through the Drive applications.

Thought you ordered the thunder night based on your previous videos? Why did you change your mind.

Also I watch your YouTube video showing your new m240. Why is the drivers side on the right, not on the left like it is in Canada and in US?
