I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think the M240i is appropriately priced. Mid-50s for performance that is essentially similar to the F87 M2C. Of course, there is no MT...
As per protocol, the G87 will be more powerful, faster, have more tech, and be larger and heavier than the F87. Thankfully it will (per early reports anyway) be available with at MT, but I'm staying put.. It is interesting to me that the G42 M240 has most of the full-fat M cues (power bulge, mirrors, fender flares). As a fan of Q-cars, I hope that the G87 M2 doesn't have a boy-racer vibe (although anyone can shoot this down based on the E30 M3 at the time...).

Option code 1VY
19" M Double spoke bi-color style 797M, w/performance non-run flat tires showing staggered tires with 225 front and 255 rear, but with 19x8.0 wheels for both front and rear. Has to be an error right? |

You really went all out to try to prove a point but there's going to be plenty of elated G42 owners with 52k builds with more tech and a drastically better interior. |

I'll be one of them. When I was younger I purchased a new A4 the summer before the new generation came out. Won't be doing that again. It was like buying an iPhone 12 when I could have waited a few weeks and had a 13 for the same amount of money |

And that’s a reason why I’m a driver of my car rather than a passenger.

iPhone analogy you got completely wrong - you can wait until the 13 shows up on the shelves and get yourself an iPhone 12 discounted.

I have a question for you folks that are smarter than me. I’m trying to figure out what suspension comes standard on the US market M240i. The ordering guide lists “M Sport suspension” as standard, while the pricing guide lists “Adaptive Suspension” as standard.
I would think these two are not the same, and there is no clear answer in the US configurator- no real option to pick any other type of suspension. Does anyone know what actually comes standard on the US car? Thanks! |

I think its is an error, I hope they are (which the rear will look a little wider) 19x8.0 225/40/19 front 19x8.5 255/35/19 rear Did you ever find out any other info?? I have asked another user on this forum what is his front and rear tire sizes are, he said he had option 1vy 797m, if the rear is 255/35/19, they would have to be 19x8.5, right? Thanks |

I'm wondering if that order guide is full of errors? For example as you mention the code 1VY shows 255 on a 8 inch rim, while code 1VZ shows a 255 on a 9.5 inch rim. Other option codes show a 255 on a 8.5 inch rim.
ALso note option code 1VY shows a 19x8 rear rim with a 255/35 R18 tire. It's gonna be interesting to see just how they get a 19 inch tire on a 18 inch rim, don't think i want to drive that one. Obviously some typos (August 23, 2021 BMW North America ordering guide) |

Still have an open slot? Trying to do better than my local dealer's mid-March, @MSRP quote.
