But am I the only one that looks at that and thinks it was just a bad call? Like maybe a "good idea, poor execution" situation? I mean, they could've chosen to turn on just about any other light and it would've been less of a scare with the same amount of help. |

Lines? Where I park, I don't need lines.

the sad thing is it's basically unavoidable in any modern high rise parking structure and you are at the mercy of their ability to maintain systems. i had a friend get his (admittedly 7 year old) cayenne turbo totaled when a sprinkler burst above his car with the moonroof ajar

Just happy to have an indoor self-park and lock garage where I live, every other garage around me is valet. I'm already stupid enough to own a manual M2 in the car friendliest city, I'll take my W's where I can
It's leaked on my previous car before, but never smelled or stained

Part of the reason I stayed at this hotel was it offered free "long term" parking if one spent the night. I was going to be gone around 3 weeks and spoke to the manager and he said the free parking was limited to I forget now how many days (maybe 7) but told me after this time the cost per day was minimal. So I decided to park the car in the hotel's underground garage. Took some doing but I found a spot with no water/sewer pipes above the spot. (Unfortunately no pic.) Was gone almost 3 weeks. Got back and car was fine. |

Well, the car is outside the lines. Thus it is (probably) either in an adjacent parking space or a lane. This seems counter to the idea/goal of safe parking.
My 2nd hand experience over the years is cars parked outside of lines seem to attract unwanted attention. So I strive to when parking get the car inside the space pretty much centered. |

Far, far away, and close to the curb on one side as possible.

I am spamming this thread but whatever. I told the rari owner “I know no one is scratching my car next to yours”.
Quick story: Some young kid about 12-13 years old was snapping photos of all the cars (there was a GT3 parked next to us also) and I walked back to grab something from my car as he was taking a photo of the inside and he goes “that’s a really nice M2! I love the bucket seats.” I go “thanks, go ahead and sit in them grab some videos from the inside.” Kid lit up like a Christmas tree as soon as I told him to sit. He was taking videos of every inch of the car. In all honesty it probably made my day more than it made his. Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Go 9ers! |
