There was also an extra wire, not sure what it was for.

Checked the heating function and it works really quickly. The Monaco wheel is a little thicker than the one in my M2 at the 3 & 9 positions, that groove is a little deeper as well. My wife says she loves the feel of it compared to the oem wheel.

M2 wheel on top, X3MC wheel on bottom.

You are the man!! Thanks for the additional pics & feedback on quality!!

New flat bottom LCI Steering wheel? Proper BMW OEM, can retain your heating/ driver assistance functions, and get the choice between Alcantara and leather.

What about manual cars? Also, how would the heated steering wheel function with no physical button?

Manual options only available with silver trim and no extra functions that we know of now. The heated function will likely need the new LCI idrive functions updated for this setup to work, getting our hands on the full set up very soon.

JABCAT Looking at the Monaco Motorsports one and they do not seem to sell covers for the paddle cut-outs when used on manual cars. I know one cannot see the cut-outs when mounted, but do you think it may distract when left uncovered?

I have an auto, so can't really comment on the no paddles. You could always just buy some paddles ($39 on amazon) and attach them. Not functional but will also cover up the open space & look oem.

Am really thinking going the route of after-market. I did get the MP one for my F87 even though I was indifferent about Alcantara, the material actually wore fine but not the blue stripe at 12, started degrading within a year and I have seen quite a few.
