The last hope. However the lousy sliders and boring mirrors are a terrible start.

Probably reserved for the CS or CSL. I would have really like the buckets in just the Competition though.

My predictions:

- Faster, a lot faster
- Way more capable
- Adaptive suspension available
- More insulated, comfortable, less “go-kart”
- Uglier than its predecessor, but more “traditional” looking than G22, G8X, or I4

They will probably reserve them for a CS model at least.

If they want to recoup on the investment (Seats designed and built by BMW) they need to use them in the most models possible.

I also am planning on buying a manual to keep forever (or until they outlaw gasoline sales) but it won't be a dual purpose passenger car/performance car. It will be a Porsche with a roll cage lol.

This is actually the ugliest render I have ever seen on these forums and that says something.

Haha! Although it’s in keeping with many of the renders I’ve seen. Setting the expectations low, that way people aren’t disappointed when they see G87 revealed. Channeling my inner Peter La Fleur

Adaptive suspension would be nice.

There's plenty of people that find the G8x too big or too heavy, so bmw doesnt need to differentiate via the grill. But who knows

I WANT to love those bucket seats.. beyond gorgeous... and too small.

15min test drive and they were already uncomfortable which broke my heart.

Oh they will, on some other edition of the car. You can probably save a buck and buy some seats out of crashed g82.

Really too bad about the DCT but as long as it has the manual, i'm set.
  • Most options will be the same as G80/G82, and I don't see much of that decontenting that was done with the original F87 compared with F80/F82. Though ceramic brakes and bucket seats seem to be missing, all the drivetrain and suspension things are the same as G82, and even carbon roof will be an option.
Love this, I always like the idea of having more options, the downside is cost of course. Hopefully, BMW can keep that in check.
  • The wheels will be 19" front and 20" rear, G87 specific design.
I like that the G87 specific design, nice to have some different options, not just a smaller M3.
  • The first four months of its production will fall into the "M 50th anniversary" period so expect the initial run to become somewhat collectible.
Hoping that doesn't mean that the first few months, the car has an ADM or anything.
  • And the new dashboard will be standard from day one.
Don't really know how I feel about this, hoping that it is both very functional and looks good. The current setup is great, so simplicity is key in my book. I don't need the mess that's in the G8X or even Audi's Virtual Cockpit
Ideally, BMW wouldn't mess up the transmission & tune like the G8X and have the ZCP cars be all autos. And I would love to have the carbon buckets from the G8X and M5CS.
My perfect G87 would be, same weight, more power, more options, a HUD, and a manual. Done

People say g80 wants to turn in and handle better than the f80, I'm hoping that feeling comes over to the g87 and still feels kind of go-kart.

Wider front tires + more factory camber + wider front track is what is going on with G80, so no doubt that will trickle down to G87. When I say go-kart I mean a combination of the 2 series wheel base + the “busy-ness” of the non-adaptive suspension. Both of those things make it feel like you’re on rails all the time in F87, but I think the common theme across the big 3 Germans is now to go even faster than before but feel like you’re more in control and less “on rails” experience. No doubt it will still be the go-kart relative to the rest of the range and other options on the market - but I expect that jumping from F87 to G87 will be similar to jumping from F80 to G80. More confident, less drama, and faster speeds.

The G87 M2 is bigger so most likely will weigh more.

No bucket seats or carbon ceramics as options? There is literally 0 reason why they would exclude these OPTIONAL items. Why does this feel like a repeat of the OG M2? I.e half arse it and then release the 'proper' version later. Fool me once...
