There have been times where I would just hop In the Z4 and would disappear for hours just to clear my head. When I lost my dog a few years back due to an illness, I remember driving for 7 hours! I had nowhere in particular in mind to go, but driving was the only thing that calmed me down and helped me not to fall apart. On my bucket list is to attend at least one CannonBall Run. Now that would be a blast!
If I lived in a place like FL, with those nice shiney wide HWY lanes, I would enjoy driving again. As I am sure you well know, driving around the 5 boroughs in not as exciting as driving through a state like FL.

Definitely depends where and what I'm driving. Driving in Florida sucks for the most part. Although I do enjoy weaving through traffic in our Mini Cooper S. Long drives are more enjoyable in our 335d.

Recent trip to Europe driving through the Amalfi coast was amazing! We rented a Renault Twizy (small 2 seat tandem electric car) it only went about 50mph but it was such a blast driving on those winding roads along the Amalfi coast. During our 16 day trip we drove about 2,700miles (rental was an Opel Mokka 1.4T) lots of amazing sites to see and the freedom of jumping in the car and going wherever we wanted was great. I must add the highways in Europe are much better than here in the states, expensive too! I can't recall how many tolls were in excess of 40+ Euro! ($50+USD for a highway toll!!)

Yep! Originally, I wanted the moonroof (never had a car with one), but once I saw the CF in person, I fell in love.

Roads certainly help. If I remember Suffolk County Long Island had some pretty nice roads. The weather this time of year in South Florida is perfect! 82 degrees, and blue skies. Have the top down on the Z4. Also took the scenic route to the office this morning.

Actually some of the best roads I've driven on were when I lived in San Diego. Unfortunately I didn't own the Z4 back then. Z would have loved those mountain roads!

You should make a trip out to the Tennessee/North Carolina border sometime.

One of the best times driving was Mfest back in 2012 heading up to Vegas from SoCal. Our caravan was over 200 deep and categorized by model of BMW and color.

WOT with a bunch of other like minded and modded cars is truly exhilarating! Of course while obeying all traffic laws

Wish I was at home to load up some pics...

Yeah, FL is kinda flat and straight, but at least the roads there give the ponies under the hood a chance to play. In the NYC area, traffic conditions, the local driver etiquette and potholes will not allow you to see what your car can do, lol

A nice middle ground is a State like North Carolina. Traffic is definitely mre forgiving than NY, and with the twists and turns, along with some of the more hilly back roads make for some exciting driving.

I am sure you will enjoy the roads either way, once you get behind the wheel of your new toy!

Love driving. I used to drive 12+hrs from NC to MA at least once a month to see family and friends, but now it's just too long of a drive especially on the way back. I just drove to MD last week, it was a 5 hour drive and i think that was just perfect. The furthest I've ever driven was from NC to CA. I've also driven 24 hrs straight(minus gas breaks) from NC to MN before. I'll never do that again, unless I have a super fun car to drive.

One of the main reasons I moved back is actually the amazing scenery and landscape. I missed mountains, lakes, woods/forests, and rivers everywhere, haha. Plus, the driving roads are pretty great as well, lol. And it's nice to see big transitions between summer and fall and winter.

You are absolutely right. I have been out to Suffolk County a couple times this year with the bike. Nice roads to play on, without having to pay tolls to head upstate just for a little fun.

That is definitely true. Florida freeways have plenty of room to really open the throttle up. I remember running Porsches and BMWs and the like up I-95, haha.

Like someone else said, it depends on who you're with and for what reason, and of course the car...

Like when I inherited my late dad's truck and drove it from Oregon back to SoCal, it had pleasant scenery, but the interior wasn't that comfortable and the gas mileage was horrible, but taking the E90 to Vegas was a dream and I'm sure it'd be good for that same run.

The best drives I've had were on my own, but if someone does tag along, I have to make sure that they have similar tastes in music or don't mind certain driving habits. If you're going to look at my speedometer the entire time and freak out when I'm going above 65 (and in this car it's what I call "BMW-Skew Compensation"), you're out. You like to drive without the radio or listen to un-roadworthy stuff like Pekinese opera (true story)? GTFO. If you make a mess of this car, I'll make a mess of your innards with this blade here, capisce?

On the same breath, I would happily take the wheel for trips to go and have fun, but if it's for work, then it's instantly dreadful... I used to be a delivery truck driver in my youth and I did odds and ends 2 years ago... Neither case was even remotely enjoyable... But no matter what, if there's traffic under any circumstances, then the drive becomes as fun as a dental visit.

Um, doesn't everyone on this forum love driving? It's like going on a forum about dogs and asking who loves dogs. Wouldn't it then be weird if someone replied "I hate dogs!" Hahaha!

Depends. I'm sure there's the people out there that just come on here to look up things... That's the only reason I was on DodgeForum (my late dad's inherited Dakota, and only for one question [minus the intro])

Been all over the country South Carolina roads seem to be smoothest, best year round driving weather, scenic and no traffic all over the state. If you ever get a chance you can live the dream.
