I'd be glad to see the M3 & M4 on the list because it would mean it's more exclusive.. I like being the only M4 I've seen in Portland.
But even if it were one of the worst selling I doubt they would list it because it's a 2015 and it's only been available to the public for 6 months. |

This article though, dumb. It should have been titled different. The SS wasn't going to a mainstream car, it was a limited production car, not like how the G8 was mainstream. So it only selling as many as was wanted. They only want to sell 3k at most and anything above 2k was a success in GMs book. People overlook the car. It might be bland and looks like a Malibu/Impala but it has more amenities, standard, than any BMW/Merc/Audi does and has very good performance numbers too for being a 4 door car. |

I like the SS, I wouldn't mind running one. And they may have sold more if it were priced a little better.

I thought the same thing too but take all of the standard stuff it has and see how much it costs as an option in other vehicles in its class or out of its class. Its like $5k or more worth of BS. Self parking, blind spot detection, lane departure, heated and ventilated seats, keyless start, passive entry, forward collision alert, HUD and rear camera with cross traffic alert from what I can recall. And this year they added manual (as an option) and the magnetic ride comfort suspension.....standard.
Honestly, a base model without all that junk (IMO junk) could bring the price down to at least $38k or more. It is a very, very good car but people think other wise because they want something thats aggressive or looks good. Hell, people love the way C5s look on the outside......but the inside is another story, bleh. |

Well, they are. The E30 had what, 4? And that thing was a frigging race car. Like, a real race car.
In fairness to the F80, they've been whoring it for many years now. It's just finally gotten to a level of complete lunacy. Now we have them on the wheel, brake rotor, and caliper?!?!? What's next, a small M badge placed on the bigger M badges? BMWs engineering challenge for the next generation should be to institute a policy of a minimum 24" inch radius between adjacent M badges. I bet you could shave 20lbs off of the weight of the car just by removing some ///Marketing from it. Agree about C&D though, I don't have much interest in that magazine. |

both had much of the same logos- doorsills, instrument panel, steering wheel, m embossed seats- outside, it had the side M3 badging, rear badge, wheel badge, etc. engine cover badge. f80 m3 only has more badging on the brakes, and one more logo on the front of the car. that's it. not really any different than before. there is no story to report here. C and D has no reason to make a fuss about M3 branding.

As for the article itself, it's click-bait more suited to a site like Jalopnik than a supposedly reputable mag like C&D. |

http://blog.caranddriver.com/the-num...is-staggering/ I'm not sure if these have always been here and just to say...hey, this is an "quality" ///M part. Pretty dumb to have that many logos on a car. Brakes, couple exterior bits and a few interior bits ok but all over and under the car? No. |

note that about 50% of the M3/M4 parts are unique to the car. You're going to get a lot of stamped parts with M on them. I can agree that there should be less of the decorative M logos, but there's no story here, it is the same as all M3's before it.

http://www.kbb.com/car-news/all-the-...nt/2000010802/ GM plans on importing just 3000-5000 Chevrolet SS's a year, and according to the C&D article, they've already sold 2,386 units and it has only been available for about half a year. |

I wish they would show how many they sell vs. how many they produce(d). Clickbait, indeed.

Not too long ago I received a free subscription to CD. Thought it was so-so. It often seemed like they just threw stuff together. Some of the comparisons seemed down right random based on what they could get their hands on. I let is expire and guess what they did? They sent me more issues and then a bill. Ha - like I was going to every send them a penny for that trick - but that sums up their integrity in my opinion so probably the best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

The SS label has a long and rich history. With the Camaro and other muscle cars anyway. Before they got their bailout, they decided to try to slap SS badges on SUV's and trucks which was stupid and a disaster. |

The SS car itself is just a rebadged and reworked Pontiac G8 so at least it's got V8, RWD power. It's mostly driven by police officers though and GM decided to import a small amount to sell to customers because a few hardcore enthusiasts were wild about the car (the same people who loved the Pontiac G8), hence why it's no surprise the car is on the list. |
