I would never get rid of the M4 for the GTR if you are really used to driving German cars. Speaking from experience.

Yeah, it's super fast but, for me, it stopped there. Car is noisy as hell (transmission, tire noise, etc.), interior layout is very odd and lacking quality. It is not a car that I wanted to spend much time in beyond a quick weekend romp. To me, the car always was just wanting to be thrashed....not enjoyable for just cruising around.

man you people don't read. No one said get rid of the M4. He is talking about the CAYMAN to GTR. damn reading is fundemental and as far performance goes the GTR far out performs the M4 is all areas so it's going to be his toy while the m4 is his DD.

CLearly you didn't read my comment clearly as those comments are out side of the scoup of what the OP ask which was about GTR or GTS, He already stated he isn't selling his m4. So again THE OP didn't say he was selling the m4 so people should stick to the topic at hand.

No, I read your comment just fine. You said "No one is saying sell the M4 for the GTR"...............and post 18 and 20 both CLEARLY suggest that the OP should do such a thing. That is what we were responding to. You are not the post police.....people will respond to what they want to. Capice?

See how you took the text out of Context "No one said get rid of the M4. He is talking about the CAYMAN to GTR." the Full quote good show.

Go read post 18 ----- THAT GUY/GAL said this -- "I would keep the Cayman GTS and replace the M4 with the GTR".

That is the comment we replied to. We are not replying to the OP. Christ, is it really that hard to understand?

What's hard to understand is why you are so angry lol.. The op said he is keeping is m4, post 18 is invalid. Hence my comment people can't read the OP is asking about the gts and gtr m4 is staying. The outer varible is not needed when he has presented the two options to choose from and is asking for opinion on only those two....But in all honesty I was just bored and felt like trolling...

Definitely one of the finest and most iconic Japan has to offer. If a car doesn't make you want to buy another one after you sell it. It probably hasn't achieved greatness. I too had gone though a lot of cars in past 15 years, plenty of German cars and almost all decent Japanese sports cars with exception of LFA.

Since you have a M4, you might want to stick with mid engine cars to replace your Cayman GTS unless you want another front engine car with back seats. Have you considered V10 R8 or NSX (supercharger or turbo is a must). I used to have a supercharged NSX. NSX is one of very few car I actually will buy another. I am on my second GTR.

My old NSX:

Off topic, but a worthy excursion. Love the original NSX and NSX-R kits. Yours looks AND sounds amazing.

I had an opportunity to get a black NSX with supercharger and R bits. Ugh, I had to pass for family reasons.

Maybe one day I'll get around to it, Cayman is more likely though. There is nothing like driving a light mid-engine rear wheel drive car. Nothing.

I am a BMW guy. Had 6 of the last model 3 series and am stuck on my E92. Funny I can't trade it even for a new 4. There isn't enough there to make me part with it. Truth be told in May 2014 I cross shopped and test drove M4, Posche 911 Carrera 4S ( instant love struck), but I took home the 2014 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. That think turned out to hell on wheels though. That reputation is not entirely unfounded. Worst car I ever had by a mile and that includes my many Past clunkers! 10 month 22 dealer visits and 6500 miles I was so fed up I stopped driving it and wanted it gone at almost any cos. Hated it with a passion. I traded it for 2015.5 Ranve Rover Sport Autobiography that is hands down best car I have ever had. You can hardly believe they came from the same line. I am in love with this thing like I am with the E92. Oh the range will stomp any stock 435 /235 etc etc. and for $1900 I'll soon do a pulley swap and tune take it to 630hp start embarrassing corvettes. My tuned 335 is faster still, but this thing can go foreve in total comfort.

Can you believe I passed on a 911 Carrera 4S for an SUV? Me neither! But I still have no regrets. In fact they cost within a few hundred dollars of each other, so it's not a money thing. The rover does whatitdoes extremely well, and it appealed to me. I did a polling on the Range Rover forum and realized I was no aberration at all. Most of the people with new model Range Rover and another car have.... 335, 535 or 2/1 series.

So no we understand you. There is nothing wrong. You need to stray a little otherwise life would be so boring and predictable. Test drove the M235 liked it a lot. Might trade the 3 for that, but waiting ti see what else peeks my interest. No hurry at all which is good.
Very interesting!! I'm not in the position to give up the M4 and Cayman for a 991 GT3 right now and thought the GTR would tick a few boxes at the present time. And it isnt that I have all of a sudden become power hungry either. For the record, I raced miata's for about 10 yrs, best racing of my life. I just think the GTR maybe an out of the box option being Japanese, etc.

funny I would never cross shop the Cayman and the GTR and in fact didn't. Such different cars in size and focus (driver engagement and involvement vs sheer power). Not sure if you've ever had a large car, but I can tell you going from a 981 to a C7, one thing I didn't really like was the sheer size of the C7, I imagine you might feel the same size difference going to a GTR from a 981.

Done!! New 14 black edition 82430.00 Car is completely on another level. Its been a very long time since ive owned a japanese car, 93 to be exact, RX7 which was a terrific car. This monster however is completely different. One thing I noticed while driving the 5hrs home was the connection with steering, tires, and general FEEL of the car. Not sure how they do this but it doesn't at all feel like it weighs 380o lbs.

I have mostly been a BMW/Porsche guy for about the last 15 yrs or so. I made the decision to get a manual M4 which I did euro delivery just this past september which was a fantastic experience. BMW really captured/reinserted some of the E46 ness in the M4 which I think makes it one of the best if not the best M cars ive driven or owned. The Cayman IS a terrific car, hence the GT4 will garner a ton of awards I'm sure. The GTR is like nothing I have ever owned. It feels more European than it does japanese, hard to explain. Godzilla is a perfect word to describe this car
