I think Price and his contract will be fine. Bullpen is much improved. I'm more concerned they won't get much more from 5-6 guys who were hurt or just sucked last year (Panda, Ramirez, Buckholz, Porcello, Pedroia, Kelly). Can't win with 25% of the roster and all starting pitchers way underperforming.

This. Panda and HanRam are big question marks. The last thing the Sox need are holes on the IF corners.

Aside from Price, the Sox still don't have a dependable rotation. There's always the hope that Kelly comes around and Buchholz stays healthy and Eduardo Rodriguez has a good year and so on. I wouldn't bet the farm on any of it, though.

The bullpen looks much better and *if* Bradley Jr can bring a bat to the lineup like he did in August, then the OF should be a strength.

I run a "glass-half-empty" Red Sox board with some very well informed but pessimistic folks who see this as yet another building year where we'll be playing musical chairs at 1st and 3rd. I'm still thinking along those lines myself.

Let's not forget Bosox fans wanted A-Rod BADLY winter 2003.

As for Bird, sucks but what can you do? Texeira will miss 120 games because of a bruised pinky, A-Rod will have a 25/78 season, starting pitching has holes, bullpen will be great but this team is geared up for 2017 and beyond.

ARod had done wonders for the yanks. Despite the negativity associated with him these past few years he has been a key player especially in the 2015 season after a year suspension

The most I would wager is a couple thousand a game but the thing was they were underdogs every series that year if i remember correctly so you were at least doubling your money every series they won, even every game they won if you bet game by game. I remember getting them 10-1 odds to sweep which was like the cherry on top lol. The bookies enjoyed it too because every series the Giants played the public money was huge on the other side haha

Well, hard to see them doing worse. I'm not so sure about WS predictions but they should be much improved.

But in all honesty he's a great third baseman and he helped us win 3 rings so I can't be too hard on him. He'll drop the weight before April.

As a Yankee fan I am not counting on Chapman for at least 1/2 this season. For the 2nd time this week he has bolted camp to attend to 'personal matters', plus there is that looming suspension by MLB. Still, this team is geared for 2017 and beyond when a few of the oldies will be gone after the season (Beltran, Tex, etc...)
