I don't believe so. I'm on my second Z4M right now, and about the only car I'd even consider replacing it with is a 'vert Viper from 08 on. I'd done a lot of reading on it and lurked around the Viper forums, and I'll I've read from anyone is positive stuff.
The good thing about the Viper too is that you can find tons of low mileage examples because they are toys for most people. It's easy to find 08 Vipers for around $50k which have less than 15k miles on them. A buddy of mine owned a previous gen Viper GTS, and put close to 100k miles on it in about 6 six years of daily driver ownership. He loved it so much he bought a new model a few years back and it's been a tank for him too. He literally pounded the hell out of his first Viper too , road racing, 1/4, etc. |

You might be able to swing an '09 ZR1 for that money. And trust me, you aren't going to find too many cars out of the box that will be quicker. The power delivery is explosive. 130+mph traps bone stock.
Then once you get used to it, do a pulley/tune/intake/heat exchanger. The LS9 and the trans/diff/clutch combo is damn near indestructible. EDIT: There's a 2010 ZR1 with 54K on eBay going for 53K. |

So maybe this doesn't quite meet your criteria, but I had a Factory Five Cobra a while back. It cost me about $30K, had a 302 roller motor for about 400HP in a 2200 lbs. car. It was fast, hot and noisy. ( I like my women like that by the way)
The thing was fast, really fast and handled but you needed to pay attention all the time because it would bite you..... oh, and it was one of the horniest things to look at, it got more attention then anything I've ever owned. |

Some good choices here, but no mention of a 2015 Camaro Z/28 yet. I see quite a few low mileage Z/28s for sale for a little over $50K.
We all have our own idea of what of "best" is, but its certainly in the running for fastest.

Z/28 is made for the road course, not the straight line, and the LS7s really aren't that great with forced induction. You'd have to do some extra work to make sure the engine doesn't fail and holds the extra power properly. They already have some issues with the LS7 valve train that followed from the C6 Z06. You'd have to do your research to find the right C6 Z06 as compared to drawing straws on the new Z/28 engine issues.
If anything, I'd go with a ZL1. It has the same LSA (though a little more power) as the 2nd gen CTS-V and its good to go with making more power on the stock block. Same can be said for the GT350/GT350R. Its a road course designed car. When I think fastest, I think straight line. Its easier to find a car thats made for boost than making one ready for it. Especially when you want to, as they say, "boost it to the moon". But there are some cars they will do fine with slapping a turbo or supercharger on them. Like a 2011+ 5.0 Mustang or a G8 GXP or Camaro SS. |

GT350R, or SS with 1LE if you want to save a few more dollars.
These cars are specialized weapons, engaging, fun, capable, well designed, etc. Corvette starts to get too far into the compromise area for me, in terms of low/cargo space, etc. I could probably think of some other cars in the price range of what you want to spend, but many of those cars will be a b*tch when you realize they are close to (or in need of) requiring all new rotors, pads, clutch, trans-service(for auto), tires, etc. This is assuming nothing else is wrong with the car, but the chances of all the consumables and regular stuff being perfect are slim, I'd say the opposite is the case. Lots of people dump their BMWs when they realize they are getting close to the end of the warranty period or when they realize the next brake pad change is the rotors too. Of course, there's the exclusivity of something like a GTR, but I agree that you probably need to spend more to find a decent one or a good Porsche that at least be on par with some of the newest cars (like the 350R) that you can get for the same or cheaper. |

The current gen Camaro seems to trump the prior Z/28 and ZL1s due to the new weight reductions. But if it's that compelling, I'll dig into research it more for sure.
