Watched the first episode. I found it entertaining due to the Paul Walker link with the dude in the Ford GT - nice backstory.

Agree that most of the "sleepers" should not be labeled as such.

Haven't been inclined to watch a second episode yet.

I watched the first two episodes. Is it me, or are the supercar drivers the least douchey characters in each show? Oh well, but of course
I'm sure they play up the whole "chip on my shoulder" and "underdog" aspects of the other people...

Hooo Boy did I ever speak too soon. Ep 3 and 4 have possibly the two worst supercar owners I've ever seen

I thought the guy with the Sonoma was ok until he had his meltdown, what an idiot.

So after watching the first episode from start to finish I just watched the first 10 min or so of each episode to get a sense of the characters and their cars and back story. Then FF to the race.

Honestly few of the cars were actual sleepers except for the minivan and delivery van.

I think the premise of the show was ok but I don't think it was completely thought out.

I've seen the whole season now. The way to do it is watch the first couple minutes of intro for each car & owner, then skip to them lining up for the final race. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes that way. And then, it's not too bad.

LOL...I was hoping it would be a good race and he had secretly modded his lambo with some performance bits.

Unfortunately he was a bit too eager...and unfamiliar with using the launch control.

Judging from the way the trailer was cut, we don't actually see anyone crash. It's all aftermath?

i finished it.

i'm usually down to watch a show with a bunch of car races, so i don't feel it was a waste of time. but i really wish they broke away from this stupid reality show formula of giving everyone a damn sob story so you root for them. i would have rather they focused on what mods were on the cars, what kind of numbers they were putting down, etc. in the prelude to the races.

i won't give away the ending but at least the person who won wasn't one of the people who irritated me

Anyone seen the second season? They had Amelia Hartford and Parker from Vehicle Virgins as one of the rich exotic car snobs lol as well as the dude from Tesla Racing Channel but no one from the DDE Fam? Also none of the exotics were modded so no VF supercharged lambo or Mclaren. And no crazy wrapped cars with Alex Choi. All were stock as if to suggest rich people don't mod their exotics. There was also the Cuban YouTuber but he didn't bring the Hermès pagani. Which would have just looked cool even if it lost or he could have brought two cars just to show it off but race one. Second season was better IMO (though batwoman from season one became a DDE celebrity for a moment). Did like that the exotics didn't absolutely kill it and the built hot rods some of which barely cost $8k could take on $700k exotics and even leave them in their dust. Like seeing an 80s mustang all beat up take on modern exotics and win. Though an exotic still one the championship the 720s is tough to beat. Should have had brooks from drag times with one of his cars. Also the last episode season finally was dope an emotional ending to the season. It's all about the car enthusiast community and family. Watching a beater Ford Mustang must have been a 1989 model beat the all wheel drive P100D ludicrous plus that was a surprise and the Tesla almost finished last lol. I had been saying this guy only races slow cars on his channel so his car annilates them, I prefer to see real races that are closer or leave him in the dust.

Personally I liked season 2 much more, but the scripting gets rather boring still.

If the Honda tranny had held together, he would have taken the whole thing, he has confirmed 7 second passes.

I do like the idea that people have spent less to build fun and fast cars, and they can beat a stock supercar. If you start bringing in modded supercars, the sky is the limit, and it makes it less fun I think.

Sky is always the limit. Anything can be made faster than anything else. It comes down to money & time...

Agreed. S2 was definitely the better of the two. Im just glad to have a decent car show on netflix. I was excited for hyperdrive...didnt even make it thru an entire episode before turning it off.

The problem is they have 40m to fill a race that takes 12 seconds.

They also do not go into neraly enough detail on the engine and modifications to the vehicles.

I watched a few mainly just skipping around the whole time so see if there was any good parts. The answer: meh not really.

S2E1 the Supercar owner lives not too far from me. I'm not a fan of the show either.
