I built this, but my wife wasn't away and I didn't have time to find a parking garage, plug it in to take a pic, but it does light up also.

Lol, did you really take your PC down to the garage for pics? Specs?

I've been thinking of updating my system (old pic below), or maybe doing a new build altogether, but I'm still waiting for the prices to drop a bit more.

Haha nice! I just built one for a friend using the same case, pretty nifty setup!

Took it down primarily to blow dust out but had my camera and figured I'd do some photography, the dog wasn't planned, he's just nosy lol.

It's nothing like yours but runs all my games at 1080 on max with decent FPS so I'm happy with it!

My wife used to get upset every time I brought in a huge box. Now she has just accepted my hardware addiction problem.

Hey, I put pineapple on pizza all the time, but the day I fit in my wife's underwear will either be the day I'm admitted to hospice for chronic wasting, or when I start cruising for a divorce lawyer.

Should be. It's actually a SonicWall E6500 capable of doing 1Gbps running DPI. It's one of three firewalls I have in the network.

Wow. Sonic and PA look a lot alike in when viewed on iPhone in grainy expansion of the image. IRL, the little Sonic I have on the protected network looks nothing like the 2 boundary PAs I have.

It was worse than this. The cabling got away from me when I was in a hurry to throw stuff into the rack and get it set up. It's actually not as bad as the picture shows. I still have to wire tie/bundle some cables and remove some others.

I worked in a government data center which shall be unnamed. If this picture gives you nightmares, the one rack I had to work in would send you to your grave. The cabling was such a mess I didn't realize there was a Cisco Catalyst 6509 sitting behind that cabling mess. You literally had to push aside bundles of cables to even see the thing a la going through the Amazon rain forest.

Not unusual. Many of the vendors go to the same ODMs to build their hardware. I know Juniper and Aruba Networks go to the same ODM for their switches. The hardware is exactly the same except Juniper's 24 port switches have their ports start on the left side and Aruba has their ports grouped on the right side of the switch.

My edge firewall is a SonicWall TZ400W and the firewall I use to isolate my management network is a Cisco ASA 5505. All the firewalls are doing OSPF routing between them.

I know exactly what you mean by finding things in bundles of mismanaged cables. I'm sure we could share some horror stories. I've worked on several military bases but the worst are always corporate companies whose IT department employees are lackluster at best.

Yes. There was a guy that just ran a some cables out the front of the cabinet and into the next. He didn't think there was anything wrong by slamming the cabinet door shut on the cables.

And another guy ran some fiber patch cables. He didn't care that he had the cables pulled so tight, you could literally see the laser light glowing through through the outer jacket of the fiber.
