Yes I do.

Four 1080p HD wireless cameras running 24/7 and set to record during motion. Push notification on my cell. Peace of mind for our new beautiful home/investment.

I would like to set up a couple of cameras at some point; at least one for the garage and another for the front door. How did you guys handle running the wiring for your cameras?

I would like to go with PoE (power over ethernet) but getting the network wiring to certain places may be difficult. Sure, there are wireless camera options but those will still require running a power cable somewhere unless they use batteries which can also be inconvenient.

While I had a guy stringing electricity, I had him pull RBG Siamese cables (video and power) to the points I wanted. It wasn't that much extra since he was already fishing.

Funny enough just picked up two of these Kuna Toucan cameras with 2 way voice myself. Runs off the power from the exterior light so no batteries to replace, is pretty discreet, no wires to run, two way communication, free push notifications, and uses wifi. Down sides are no night vision and depending on wifi signial can get a little glitchy. Not high security but easy to setup and install plus I have a full security system covering the house and garage with cell back up.

Yes, 3 cameras covering front garden, driveway and garage.

Links nicely to an IOS app.

Main use to be honest is to check if wife is still there so I know wether to come home early or not

Great question. In our new home, I specified installing multiple power outlets up high near roof line for this very reason. They are covered by roof overhang for weather protection. Otherwise, you will have to drop the line/cord through the walls to nearest outlets.

Interesting - a two car garage with single doors. I thought they only did that with three.

I just hope cars don't continue to grow or I will have three useless garage spaces.

Love this thread and how everyone gave a yes or no answer haha.. that is a veteran group of first responders!

I use an ARLO system for monitoring

Depends on the builder. We have only 2 builders in my neighborhood and only one of them does this.
I personally prefer a large singe door so I can park a little slanted. Give the kiddos and Mrs extra room to open doors.

Certainly not my preference, and it’s hard to tell, but one bay is slightly longer than the otner.

It's all very carefully measured out; as long as I hit that block on the passenger side front tire, the rear door will clear.

I'm subscribing to this thread. I'm trying to purchase a house now, (home inspection this week) and I'll certainly want to do something.

I have a Swann camera 8 camera setup at my house. It is wired so was kind of a pain running the wires in the attic. But its worth it. I can see it from my app. It holds up to 30 days footage with the ability to download to a USB or phone.

To be fair, I got this a few years ago before the whole wireless systems came out. From what I've been reading and seeing, the wireless ones are much easier to setup.

Interesting that no one here has mentioned the Nest Cam - probably because word got that the software crashes often and that the cameras frequently see things that aren't there. I’ll be replacing mine soon.

For those wondering, these are the best bang-for-the-buck for sure. Solid/quality built cams with great optical clarity for not a lot of monies.

Just make sure you get them from a US supplier or US OEM partner...most the ones floating around on Amazon/eBay were meant for the Asian market and come with hacked Chinese-to-English firmware; no bueno when you go to update the software in the future.

Excellent point and fully agree. My Hikvisions come from a nationwide supplier in the US. They load their own firmware, and are my single point of contact if I run into issues. One of my domes had less than stellar sharpness, and I promptly was shipped a replacement.
