I agree. Acura is taking the BMW trend of things and ruining the way their models look one car at a time. IMHO the only good looking BMW's left are the 3 series coupe (no offense sedan owners), and the Z4.

It looks very short in the back when you compare it to the front.

To be fair I have yet to see one in person so I can't fully back up that opinion. But, the rest I stand by.

Ignore the front grill and it looks great, although I do have some reservations since we seeing it perhaps from it's best angle. When I see a rear and side shot then I'll make my final judgement.

No I'm just unbiased toward the car brand I own. Take off the bmw badge and drop a 4 cylinder in a 5 series and all of the sudden it's pretty ugly.

well....each model targets different age/taste groups
the 5 series is one of the best lookin sedans out there in its class..IMO
look at the 535 sports...its as sick as the 335
x3 are for the ladies..

the 7 series might be butt ugly to younger crowd but is luxurious and drives like a monster for the old folks

I'm merely stating my opinion, not bashing anyone else. To each his own. I just personally feel that the last generation of BMW's were better looking than the current generation. It's a shame too because the driving excitement of a BMW cannot be matched. I enjoy audi's too and I think their designs are getting better contrary to BMW. Unfortunately it seems that on an Audi, EVERYTHING is an option and they don't run nearly as good lease programs.

It all boils down to firing that dreadful Chris Bangle and giving his spot to the guy that designed the CS (same guy that did the M designs)

I actually think its pretty good looking, of course that grille being the worst point of design, but probably the best implementation among the other Acura sedans (think of the RL ).

I'm not surprised by its body size, as the TL has always been on the larger side, and its main reason its considered roughly in the same group as the 3 series is because of price.

Despite being relatively big and FWD, the outgoing TL has some pretty good driving dynamics. Now with SH-AWD available, the TL should be much more capable around the twisties. However, seeing Honda's recent trend that seems to not put as much emphasis on good handling performance as before, I hold my expectations low as far as how the chassis and suspension set up will perform.

Also, I'm not expecting anything from that motor either, unless there are some surprises there or in the weight of the car. Yes, 300hp is nice, but the added size and weight, especially with AWD, will not help it be particularly faster than current Type-S (not to mention still having a 5 speed auto). Perhaps if they offer a stick, it'll be impressive. It won't be catching any 335's though, possibly even be a tad behind the G.

I figure if I keep my expectations low, then I'll be pleasantly surprised later haha (unless if my expectations actually turn out correct).

Where I do have high expectations is the interior, in terms of build and tech, usual strongpoints of Acura these days. If they don't increase the price too much, the TL will still be a great value overall, but who knows these days.

As far as my pick...I pick the G over the current TL. Let's see if that stays the same (probably will)..

I can only see one of the photos?

Get used to seeing that grill on Acuras. This is the 2nd car to come out with it (after the TSX) and it is Honda's attempt at establishing a 'face' for the Acura brand (such as our kidneys). From what I do see, I like the outgoing model better aesthetically. The rear reminds me of the Camry. I've had numerous friends with the TL and have thought it to be a pretty good deal in the car industry. I hope that stays true, and maybe the looks will grow on me, though I'm still not huge on the Accords this is based off of.

Replace that entire grill assembly with some racing mesh and you've got a pretty sleek sedan. Too many lights in the front bumper too, but looks radically different from current gen TL's...

Acura styling in general has done very, very little for me. Ever. Barring the NSX.
