I just spent the last four years behind a slushbox. Before that I swore I would only buy an automatic if I lost my left leg, but the Tacoma I ended up in only came in an Automatic with the DoubleCab body (needed the cab space as then I had 3 kids - 4 now) for 2004 and I hated the upcoming 2005 body.

It's so great to have three pedals again. I will admit I've never driven a modern automatic (like the 335 step) nor a DCT/"flappy paddle gearbox", but I see no reason to try. To de-zealot this, to each their own and enjoy what you have, but don't knock the 6MT. Give it a spin and go from there.

Yeah, I've actually never driven a stick on a car newer than I think maybe 1995 model year.

The only real advantages to the sticks now a days is having 6 gears instead of 5 or 4, and the hill holder feature. That really helped my re-entry into driving stick again. It's unnerving until you get used to it. Coming from an automatic, it might not be that strange.

I saw my car on Saturday. I went in to finalize the trade-in of my current piece of poop (G35x) and they just pulled my car off the truck. It's been a brutal few days!!
