Haircuts

I have to shorten my remainings at my head every 6 weeks and use meanwhile a clipper from Phillipps.
Remembering former days for paying...umm...converted up to 18 bucks and tipped round to 20. Tips are here not expected and calculated but welcome.

I live in redneck land, so it's mostly old school barber shop/clippers along with a few overpriced/under-qualified stylist places around here...

I've been using the same lady to scissor cut my hair at the same barber shop for 20+ years now, long enough that the price went up from 12 to 15 dollars, and my tip has gone up from 5 to 10 dollars. I'm pretty slack on such things, so only go once every few months. For the holidays I'll tip her $25. She's really good, and I'd pay double happily.

Gonna suck when she finally retires...

The Wife pays $75 for a quick freaking trim. WTH....

Nothing outside of initial cost of my oyster 76 classic. Thing is a beast and does great work. I run a quad 0 all over. Haven't paid for a haircut for the last 15 years.

I don’t either and I have a really hard time convincing any of the girls where I live that a “very light trim” does not mean leaving me where I can’t even comb my damned hair... and if I find one I like who does it the way I like it, she’s usually not working there the next time I go in... grrr.

But it takes a few times for me to know if she’s really good or it was just a fluke. Get a great cut, wow she’s the one, then after a good cut or two, the “one” starts not being so great anymore... kinda like dating, when they’re on their good behavior for awhile then they don’t seem to gaf and you see the real them... and to your point, by the time I decide, yeah, this really is the one, she’s gone... lol... so sad.
