Congrats! I bounced the idea of one of these around in my head for a little while, but the size (particularly width) was just too much. Went with a Grand Cherokee SRT instead as the sizing is just about perfect.

I do admire the Raptors though.

I just don't get the appeal of these 'performance trucks'. Its not really useable as a truck (you won't load with 2 tons a gravel in a $80k car), and it is still not quite a sport car, so ???

But it makes you happy, and that's what matters, so congratz!

Perspective, my friend. Not everyone is hauling 2 tons of gravel. They may need to haul a sheet of plywood or a piece of furniture every now and again, however. They may also need to haul 5 people with gear, comfortably, as well. Finally, having said truck as a second vehicle and it not be an ordinary truck helps too.

My wife isn't a big fan of trucks until we were floating on a cloud on the highway due to the Fox shocks and plush cooled seats.

Why do people comment on any lacking this truck has? A raptor is pure badass.

When you can jump the truck 3ft in the air and still keep a warranty, I think that still serves a purpose than carrying 2tons in the bed. Other than offroading, a Jeep Wrangler is a pretty useless vehicle but people still buy them.

Mine is an activity truck as i mountain bike, engage in outdoors activities etc. it’s not a utility/work vehicle. That’s like assuming a sports car is only useful on a track or when speeding. Plus, i own motorcycles and no longer rely on 3rd party bike transporters. My truck has helped me out quite a bit when i do my homeowner purges or buy big box items.

Since i do not have an M3 I didn't buy the Raptor but did buy a lowly F150 xtl 5.0 crew cab. Never was a Ford or truck person but love it to death... could not be happier (except maybe with a 918 spyder but that's another story).

They really are great, super comfortable on the road, and you don’t have to worry about road conditions, hauling bikes, fire wood, towing boats and toys.

This is what I was thinking. I raced MTB in the 90s and although I had a full-on Civic track car, I was the weirdo driving it in gravel parking lots. A sane (and well paid) person in this situation today would make a Raptor an awesome choice. Same with people going skiing/boarding.

I have a 2013.

Great truck, with the exception of having to relocate a fuse (known issue) it has been as reliable as a hammer.

I have 70,xxx miles, for me it is far more comfortable then the wifes Escalade.

New ones have teeny weeny turbos. I love the way they look, and have driven one shortly, but not enough to comment on anything in particular. My favorite truck currently out... Although the low tow rating would push me away.

For the same price, I could snag an SRT Durango that seats more people, has an awesome sounding engine, and tows more.

Thanks for replying...I have seen speculation that in 2 years or so when they phase out the current design, they are throwing the GT500 motor in the Raptor. It's an appealing truck, but the turbo point can sway one way or the other. A bit disappointing...

I was talked out of one before due to wear and tear/repair costs...but I've seen a lot say it isn't much different than a regular F150. Do you guys have a SCREW or SCAB?

I like the looks of the raptors......but they seem to be a jack of all trades, master of none type vehicle.

Not all that great for towing with the soft and long travel suspension, and not as good as something like a Jeep for off-road. For the price.....I can think of much better options.

The raptor is the only vehicle sold to the public on a mainstream level that is designed to go fast off road. Other vehicles like a cayenne can go off-road a bit but the speed component is meant to be used on road. Even the evo and STI are heavily biased for on road speed over gravel road prowess.

The raptor is incredibly unique in its mission, that’s why it’s a big deal.

Also because if works reasonably well as a truck, which is a nice thing to have here in the states.

I bet out of all the raptors sold......less than 10% are used to go "fast off-road". It's a gimmicky truck for guys who want to be dessert racers, but in reality....never leave the payment.

They look cool....and if you want to spend the money, go for it. For the money, I would rather have a new diesel F250.

I bet fewer than 10 percent of Ferrari F40's sold have ever done 190+ mph.

Maybe Ferrari just shouldn't have bothered i guess.

yeah I don't get it either. for just hauling stuff there are plenty of better options for like half the price. but to each their own. would rather have a base f150 and cayman GTS/GT4 for the cost of a raptor+F80. that's if I really really needed a truck everyday. If I need a truck every once in a while you can rent one from enterprise to haul stuff.

...I see what you are saying, but I bet alot more people use a Ferrari for what it's been designed for vs. using a Raptor for what it's been designed for. Would you go out and pay $60K++ for a truck and then go beat the hell out of it offroad? Probably not. There are a lot more people that spend a fortune for a Ferrari, and then take it out on the road/track and put it through it's paces.

I'd rather have a Diesel F250. I bet if you put a tune on it, the F250 would easily outrun the Raptor.....get better MPG....and be able to tow a hell of a lot more Those diesels are putting out 900+ ft/lbs of torque stock.
