I think they fit the bulky chunky design of the car perfectly

I read (or watched) somewhere that the new mirror design was taken from the Hofmeister kink. So they basically removed it from the M4/4 series windows, and then went overboard adding it back in lots of random places.

The traditional interpretation of the Hofmeister kink is missing from the M4/4 series. Anyway, I do think the mirror design is uninspired. The E9X M3 and F8X mirror designs added a lot more character to the cars.

The traditional interpretation yes, but there's still a kink. So while it's kind of a reversed interpretation of the kink, it's still factually present. |

Did BMW invert the kink to create a new design? Looks like it to me. Is that still a Hofmeister kink? In my opinion, no. It's something else. At least one past BMW designer has made similar comments as well. Agree to disagree I guess.

Hmm, What do I think of the mirrors?... I think objects in mirror are closer than they appear
But Seriously, I like the G80 mirrors, especially in CF

I agree with pretty much everyone. The new mirrors are crap. However I hope that they block the wind a little more then the f80 when the windows are down. My girl basically wants to kill be when I roll the windows down. Rightfully so her hair looks like... even better then it did when she got it

As far as I can recall, the previous generation M5/M6 had the regular vanilla side mirrors. They didn't have to make the M3/M4 boxy like them, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal.

These mirrors definitely keep the wind off my face I've noticed.
And there's a substantial difference in my girlfriends hair movement compared to the m2c she noticed. |
