After 9/11, the people of NYC were asking similar questions. The NYC PBS station had an evening program on a week or so after 9/11, with prominent religious leaders from the city answering questions like this.

One of the participants was a rabbi, and he summed it up by saying that Adam and Eve got all of humanity tossed out of the Garden of Eden. Self-determination is the result. Makes total sense to me in the Judeo-Christian ideology.

This will not earn me any fans, but I seem to be hellbent on not having fans as of late. This sums up my opinion.

As I have heard religious people speak on this subject, the only answer I have ever received is that "God has a plan that we don't understand." I guess all things fall under that category.

I got beat for this once as child. My father thanked me, I said "No Problem." The next thing I knew, was the last thing I remembered. That day I was taught the only acceptable answer to "Thank you" is "You're welcome." Since then, it drives me insane.
