Otherwise I would also like to do retractable electrical / air hose / water hose reels, side lighting in addition to the overhead, cabinets instead of shelves, a full workbench / reloading bench / tool bench, motorcycle lift, car lift, and epoxy + grade + tile rather than just epoxy.

Edit: also, with that california plate on the clown shoe, were you up at Alice's recently like a few weekends ago...?
To be honest, you really don't need much to get started IMO. At the end of the day, as long as you have a space to store the cars and work on them efficiently, then that's more than good enough.

I personally think it's really easy to get carried away with the Garage Journal type builds (even though I just spent a good 3 days reading a 100 page thread )

I do have a retractable extension cord and work light. The quick jack is great but I would go for a full 2 post lift on a long term garage, investment cost is not that crazy.

Sadly I moved out of California in 2019, many drives down Skyline and La Honda in the Z4M since it's purchase in 2015

Our new garage is almost complete.

Its 28' x 50' with 10' doors.

It has a dedicated circuit wired in the ceiling for overhead power for a lift. The back half is 6" reinforced with rebar and the front half is a standard 4" floor. Ceiling height at the peak is 18' and at the back wall its 12'. Around the corner in the back is a 350sq/ft space that can be used as a gym/storage/etc. I also have a gas line plumbed in the back left corner in case I ever decide to install a heater.

here's what i did with my 3 bay garage as i wanted this to be more of a show room floor with lots of garage swag and what not

for flooring i went with the Free Flow design from RaceDeck. Very easy to install and i went with blue, black, aluminum and graphite.

for the garage cabinets i went with the Husky all black cabinets i ordered from Home Depot

and here's how it all turned out

i ended up painting all the garage rails black to give it a cleaner look

also ordered two TireRack storage systems

installed 9 LED lights to brighten things up!

so on this side of the garage i decided to order more cabinets as well as another TireRack system. i ended up moving my HF tool box next to the new cabinets. here's the before:

and after:

and now with some garage swag!

That turned out so good! Did you do this all in one go?

Really like the flooring, it really brightens up everything. Pretty happy with it?

Garage List
Love the setups...gives me inspiration!

This isn't really a "garage" as it is not attached/next to my place (3 miles), but needed more space so went with a Warehouse. 6200 total sq/ft, 4k of warehouse. 2x 14ft powered doors. Added 4x 4-ton Samsung split A/C's, full overhead LEDs, 4x remote controlled skylight screens, 16x camera system, 32 sensors at all windows/doors/roof etc. Couple couches and recliners. Painted the entire space white with black roof. 2x 75" TV's with dual 15" + dual 8" Cerwin Vega towers.

List of to-dos: full cabinets/more tools, lift(s), flooring (debating on the route to go), install the air compressor I have, and get a big ass fan.

Any ideas on the above are greatly appreciated.

Hardie Plank siding? Where is the lift going and what type?

Nice joint BTW.

No, I had to budget things so I did half of the flooring and the main garage cabinets. Than budgeted the rest of the flooring and the other garage cabinets. This took me 1.5 years to complete. Next on the list is to swap out the utility sink for a black utility sink

Correct on the siding. This is an addition to our existing house built in the 70s so we matched the siding, plus the wife likes the look. Board and baton in really popular around here. A builder is finishing up a $1.6m new construction house 2 doors down from us and used the same stuff because "its what buyers want" he says.

I haven't decided on the lift yet. It can go on either side in the back half. Leaning towards a 2 post of some sort on the right side to leave me the option of a 4 post on left down the road. I want to get cabinets and cars in there first to get a better idea of where things fit.

I have the same siding on my garage, which is a pole barn design. Mine has been up 17 years now. Awesome product.

If you plan on servicing your cars in the garage, get a two-post lift. Anything other is a compromise. I have a Rotary 10,000 pound asymmetrical 2-post. Plenty of info on the internet on installing a lift. Looks like you've prepped for one already (floor, ceiling height, and power). 2-post on the right and 4-post on the left sounds right. Most 2-posts need a 12' foot ceiling. Rotary makes a nice version that the hydraulics are 12V powered via a standard auto battery (charged by a maintainer). It's twice as fast lifting. 25 seconds vs. 45 secs. Really helpful if the power goes out.

Again, nice joint you built. Congrats.

Awesome setup!

Question about the Free Flow design flooring. How's cleaning for it? Do you just hose it down and out, or is it more involved?

Dirt and debri will fall through but taking a shop vac will clean it up. If the tiles need to be cleaned I take my pressure washer to it and because its a free flow design the water flows out of the garage because its slightly graded

Recently completed installing PEI5 Porcelain in my new to me garage. Despite everyone's concerns it has taken quite the abuse so far. Did the install myself to ensure every single tile had 100% coverage for maximum strength. Next up will be to take down the drywall and start on the electrical.

I can recommend a great addition to any garage (other than a 2-post lift), get a wall mounted garage vacuum. I have a VacuMaid. Made in USA, all powder-coated steel, powerful and very quiet. Will hold 5-gallons of debris.

So far I haven't had any oil spills but if I do these Racedeck tiles pop up easily.

Your kid's cars look so cute. The garage itself looks tidy, good job.
