I'd argue that paying cash with super low interest rates is indeed not a flex. At least we all drive cool cars!

Not trying to flex, don't want to flex. Just in a good position, overall, to not need to finance regardless of where the rates are.

With inflation at 7+% (maybe higher, who knows as they keep changing the basket of goods in the calc), it would seem crazy to me to not finance some portion of the purchase, regardless of how much cash you have.

Buy/borrow now and pay back with less valuable money in the future.

My dealer offered me the 2.49% for 60 mon from the BMW website, but this is only because they screwed the pooch and failed to lock me in January. Otherwise would have been a nice premium I'm sure, despite excellent credit.

My dealer said the 2.49% BMW finance offer didn't apply to "M" cars and proceeded to give me a 4.29% rate that I will have to refi later (830 credit score). They blindsided me with that and I did not have the time or patience to sit and argue with them. But for what it's worth, don't shop at BMW Akron, Oh.

This is what happens when typically shady businesses/people (many, but clearly not all, dealers) get the upper hand in a deal. They can put the screws to you and they know you are likely to take it and if not they move on to the next guy in line.

My dealer is acting very badly right now for me and another member here.

When will this madness ever end. Free market checks and balances are long over due.

Thats a bunch of B.S!!!

If the website clearly shows a 2022 M240i is eligible for 2.49% I dont understand their lame reasoning.

They could have atleast been honest with you at a minimum about not being able to give the listed rate instead of coming up with shitty reasons like "M" cars are not eligible. The interest rate is dependent on your credit and not what model car it is but I am not surprised by their cheap tactics based on what we discussed in the other topic about marking up HEA spec BG after initial contact with them.

Yep, and I will review them for such practices. They didn't tell me what my financing and APR would be until AFTER they asked me to sign the papers. I had somewhere to be that night and just wanted to quickly pick up the car and take what I assumed would be ~2.5% rate based on BMW financing and my credit. I told them immediately that was "a terrible rate" and they instantly went on the defensive about how they have no cars and rates are what they are, so I decided it was not worth my time to bicker with a stealership. I had a preapproved 2% rate even with a credit union, but I would have had to secure the loan and come back, which I didn't plan on actually needing to do. Lesson learned - and be careful with your dealerships.

Good news is they had a good allocation week

2.74% 84 months from my credit union…nothing out of pocket. With inflation where it is, it's basically free money.

1.9% for 60 months, but rates jumped 1 day after I took delivery. Got lucky this time.

Looks like BMWFS rates jumped another half point to 2.99% today from 2.49% last month.

Crazy how it was 0.9% till Jan 3rd and is 2% points greater in a span of 2 months.

While this rate of increase seems crazy, it only SEEMS crazy. Who would lend money at a rate WELL below the current rate of inflation?

Lock in some 'cheap' debt and pay it back with less-valuable money in a few years. Sounds like time to cancel that 2 series order and put in an order for an M8 convertible!!

Ha! I wasn't faulting BMW for the rate increase and I agree it has everything to do with inflation.

Too late to get my order in for an M8 as I am picking up my car at the Performance center tomorrow
