So. My 2 cents on this. My car is currently in for full paint correction, ceramic coating, and clear bra. The foreman at the shop said the rocker planes (at only 160mi, are already really beat up. They had to do a two step correction on that area - enough to make it not visible to the naked eye under normal light conditions. I’m expecting the rocker panels to be trashed within a year. I’d love to get some of these mud flaps but way too paranoid to drill those screws out. Any alternatives?

For the bottom screw you need to add I started it with a drill and once it caught switch to hand. I couldn't start it by hand from my angle. Rears are a pain in the butt if you don't have that sweet right angle adapter he used. If you have that the whole job for someone fully able body should be about 10min You can do it! |

I would like to see some pics of a dirty car with the mud flaps before a wash. It would be interesting to compare them to a dirty car without the flaps. Here are some screenshots I snagged from a youtube review by Dailymotor in which the car is dirty from driving in the winter. Lots of dirt collecting right behind the front fender, and of course the side skirts. The area behind the doors where the fender bulges out is getting blasted quite a bit as well.

I guess it doesn't really stop the light dirt from getting around it, but just the rocks from flying up.
Pretty tempted to get these, either way. It's way too fun to play with the sport diff, and I know I'm going to get all scratched up. Hopefully the ceramic has protected it a bit so far ![]() |

For us northerners with snow, salt, slush and a gazillion rock chips post winter, it prevents the side skirts from getting trashed by all the junk that can get thrown up off the tires. You can't go wrong with it and their presence is not obvious by any means once installed. I kept staring at them on my car for the first few days and kept thinking if it was the right decision but I dont even notice them any longer. Too much in awe with the rest of the car ![]() |

Any idea if these would still help if you are running 12/15mm spacers?

![]() I decided to just go for it. I drilled out the inner part and the rest popped out. TLG provides everything you need for the install. As was mentioned, the fronts are much easier to do as you can turn the wheels to gain access. The two fronts took about 10-15 minutes. After replacing the two plastic tabs, there is one short screw to add additional strength. I used a drill to start it and finished with manual to avoid over tightening. This was also mentioned in another post. The rears, well, that's another story. They have screws and not the plastic "things" for lack of proper vocabulary, as the fronts. Not having the appropriate tools was the first challenge. Was able get a philips point for an impact driver set to fit and gripped it with some locking pliers. Was slow but worked well. Was able to get all four in place in about 30 minutes. ![]() The first ever customization to a car I have ever done! ![]() If I can get it done, I am confident you can as well. I will get pics up soon. P.S. Thanks to TLG for the products. ![]() Last edited by PP3121; 11-09-2022 at 09:39 AM.. |

I did my rears over the weekend. I suggested to Tommy that he finds screws with a hex head to allow install with a regular wrench and no need to remove rear wheels or special tools. I ended up removing my rear wheels for the install.

Just installed a set but added a few things to the installation as I felt it was needed.
Front Mudflaps - The self tapping screws included in the kit to be used at the bottom of the mudflap didn’t feel secure. It could potentially work its way out, also if you overtighten it which is easy to do, you’ll strip the plastic and it’ll be more or less free spinning. Instead, I predrilled a hole and just used an aluminum pop rivet. Rear Mudflaps - if you follow the original instructions, after it’s installed you’ll noticed the corners where the rear bumbler and black diffuser meet are loose. You can easily push it in and out. It’ll probably flap around on the highway when you drive. The reason why it does this is because there is a ~3/8” gap of unsupported area (bare thread with the included long screw) between the mudflap and the threaded hole. That hole aligns and holds together the rear diffuser corner and rear bumper corner to the hard mounting point attached to the cars frame. Even though the Mudflaps are secure with no movement, the aforementioned bumper corner flexes quite easily. To remedy this, I used a metal washer and a plastic drywall anchor in between the mudflap and the threaded hole. The plastic anchor was cut down to 3/8” to fill this gap. No bumper flex and the mudflap is now even more secure.

Installed mine about a month ago and really love them. Such a sleek profile
One big complaint: the screws that were provided are already rusting. WTF! Now I have to source screws of a different material that won’t rust. Tommy L Garage any suggestions? |
