I've never leased before. Now I see that you loose all money down if leased car is totaled. Zero down lease is $920 15k/36m. Not sure what happens with $7500 tax rebate. Perhaps I should be looking at financing instead if I wanna tradein.

To find a better deal on a different car. If the lease makes sense on a car I want great. Otherwise I find a different car or buy it instead of leasing. In no circumstances would I ever pay $1000/month to lease a Kia, especially when a wrangler 4xe with similar sticker can be leased for half the price with $0 out of pocket and will be worth more at the end of the lease.

Sorry was asking the OP who said he wasn't considering the EV switch to save money. Given his current ride has lots of life in it, i don't get the rationale.

Yes I get it now, lease deal is bad. I can finance it I guess. 2k mark up and 0 markup at local dealers. But wait with markup is 3-4 months, no markup 6-8 months.

That might be the worst lease deal on the planet if the $1000/month price includes the $7500 tax credit being applied to it. That means it would cost you almost $40k to drive a Kia for 3 years and then hand it back to them....yikes. Buy a 911, it'll cost you less lol

Have you driven a Macan GTS/turbo? They are pretty well depreciated by now, you could probably find a real nice one to drive around for 2-3 years at a cost of less than $10k in depreciation and maintenance/repairs.

Kia lease doesn't do $7500 credit. Some deduct it from msrp, kia doesn't.

I don't like Macan, it's too small. Not sure I wanna wait 4 to 8 months for EV6 either. End of this year other cars will be coming to market.

Curren Caynne has lots of miles, I don't want to deal with maintenance, warranty just paid nearly $20k to fix check engine. Figured EV is near zero maintenance and free to charge at home with my solar panels. Maybe it's too much hassle to get into one for a decent price.....I don't know.

If they won't give you the $7500 on a lease that's even more reason to buy if anything. You can always do a balloon payment loan that acts like a lease and then you'd get the $7500.

Try carvanna.com or vroom.com. I sold my X3 at much higher to what was offerred locally.

On a side note you can lease a 392 Wrangler with $80-85k MSRP for same approximate cost. Gas mileage sucks but hey it’s got a hemi…and will hold its value way better.

For the love of Jesus please do not trade in your car for a lease. Cayenne Diesel is easy to sell privately. The $26k downpayment will get wiped out the second Karen hits you while texting.

Are you sure about that? When I bought my Sorento PHEV they said I could lease it and they'd take the $6587 tax credit off the lease. (see attachment)

I ended up buying it and claiming the credit on my taxes so it worked out, but some people won't be able to capture the full credit if they don't owe enough taxes as the credit is non-refundable.

How is your Sorento PHEV doing so far? In order to be put first in the line for the EV6 GT, I had to buy a “normal” Kia (yes, Kia SoFla is learning dirty tricks from Ferrari). I bought the Sorento X-Line SX Prestige and traded in my beloved Mazda CX-5 Turbo. Very pleased with the interior quality and the punch of that 2.5T engine mated to a wet dual clutch transmission. Definitely incredible value for modest 46k.

We're loving the Sorento! The PHEV has been fantastic, and we're averaging 56mpg over 7k miles total, but the last two tanks of gas have stretched 96mpg and 125mpg. My work commute is 14 miles so the 32 mile electric range can get me to work twice between charges. I use a killawatt to track my charging and we're averaging about $4.90 per week in electricity since October.

It was $50840 for the SX-P version with sunroof and tow package but we got back the full $6587 EV tax credit.

My only gripe is how loud and clunky the exterior door handles feel. Everything feels quite premium except for that. We ended up getting silky silver but really wanted wolf gray. The HEV/PHEV are made in Korea and I guess the paint options are limited vs the ICE versions from the states.

Just a few other suggestions, if you don't always need the back seat to carry passengers regularly, have you considered the i4? It is easily one of my favorite EVs right now. I drove the i4 M50 recently and would get it in a heart beat if I am ready to go electric.

For perhaps $5-10K more than the EV6 GT, you can also get an X5 45e with 35 miles or so of electric range (17kWh useable battery). The X5 is essentially perfection as an all-rounder vehicle.

One thing that BMW does really well with their infotainment system (like Tesla) on the i4 and iX is that they factor in places you can charge when going on a long trip where you won't make it on a single charge. This way, you do not need to figure out manually where you are going to charge. The Kia does not do this from a recent review I watched. They may update this later but that functionality is not there today.

Later this year, Lexus will also be launching their RZ450e. With their excellent build quality and perfect paint work, it will be another great option over the EV6.

I dont like BMWs lately and dont really want to spend even more. So far I dont have time to shop around for new vehicle. Everything is difficult. I'd keep my Cayenne if I knew it wouldnt crap out on me. Will see.....checking on deals and cars slowly

It's because you still live in the 90s. People are ready to kill to get a Telluride or a Palisade. Many pay 10k (20%) markup. I would easily take a Kia over any mainstream car from Toyota, Nissan or Ford.

EV6 being EV automatically makes it high on demand these days, when people demand it, they can charge admin because demand, just depends on how much you want it

OP: Others have said it already but, a diesel Cayenne is highly in demand and super easy to sell, sell it privately and finance the EV6
