Definitely not. US market only buys SUVs. 😞
Let's not rush to judgement. We knew we wouldn't get the M3 Touring because BMW didn't crash test the 3 Series Wagon in the US.
True—If you see the next 5-series touring models coming, then they will bring this. But like you said if they don't bring the base 5-series touring here then the M5 Touring will NOT come either!

I better start saving my pennies now in the off chance that a G99 actually comes stateside! While I'd have much preferred a G81, I'd still go for an M5 touring.

For the money; personally I think I'd rather buy an 2023 M2C and an X1 instead of just an M5 Touring.

It would be difficult for me not to buy this if it indeed is making it stateside. I'm getting an x5m right now and figured after this purchase, I'd make the switch to electric for the family haulers, but for an m5 touring, I just might have to go ICE.

Re: the potential of US sales of the car.

I trust BMW Blog. They don't publish random BS. If they say it's coming to the US, take it seriously.

Personally, however, I don't see any evidence yet, neither for nor against this. I do hope to get some first clues in about a month or two.

Nice collection of Audi Avants. How did you get a B5 RS4 in the states? Or did you live in Europe before CT?
I brought it in from Canada in 2019 and had it federalized.

If it makes it across to the US and has the design down, definitely a buyer!

Nothing against them and I like what they post but I don't think they really know of details first hand. They talk to whomever and they repost. That article was largely based off of your post here on Bimmerpost - it's not like that have first hand info on BMW, and they put their opinion on it.

What you post here in terms of production and product release is far more "insider" than what anyone posts "based on their opinion". Again, nothing against them but they are hardly the go-to source for breaking BMW news and that's ok - not a lot of people can be.

Unless you're hinting that the 530/540 Touring is coming back to the North American market.

it can go both ways.

once owned a used S4 B8.5 and the drivetrain was making a clanking bang when i applied WOT.

drove it like Grand Theft Auto and one day I applied WOT doing a 90 degree turn in "MDM" style drift and the drivetrain made a very loud metallic bang and since that day no more clanks worked like new.

also i found out that Audi actually has no "MDM" mode, and since that day no more MDM drift was possible. the traction control computer and drivetrain were fixed by drifting it.

They have their own, very good and reliable sources. However, much of what they learn comes with restrictions on publication. When I post things here, those restrictions go away. So it does look like they repost my info but in reality they often know it before I do.

But what if he doesn't identify as a Touring and only identifies as a Wagon? What he doesn't identify as a "he" at all. Now I just offended him...I mean them...it 🤦🏻*♂️ So much to think about these days. Let's just hope there is plenty of time to be inclusion of ALL forms of the M5 coming to the US.

BMW will never sell this in the US. IMO tourings are for owners not people who lease at 7k miles/yr.

It's hard to tell if wagons are really done in the US. It'll be interesting to see what Mercedes does on the next gen e63. It looks like Audi might be bringing the next gen s4 avant over, which hopefully implies the rs4 too. I really hope for a m5 touring and rs4 avant, they are both dream cars, with a slight preference to the rs4.

Don't worry NA. I bet you we WILL end up getting it. They'll give us a wagon priced at 200k but not the one that we really want that costs half as much. And then when they don't move as many they'll look at us and say "see? Quit your bitching."

If my logic is correct, I wonder if that could mean we could end up seeing a non-m touring.

Ahhhh no never mind. It's easier just to soup nazi it and go with "notouringforyou. Come back 1 generation."

Just need to hope that they do bring it.
I for one look forward to the BMW 565e xDrive M70i PHEV wagon.
