I plan to get the m carbon fiber air intakes act well but haven't seen the catalog for them

this insight might be scary for bmw being 72% is 1-4.

if some of these folks are on multiple lists, it means demand is low..even so, it means the list is short across the board

Do we know how many M2s they were building each year of the F87 gen? I'm thinking this was a low volume car compared to say the M3/M4 so there's just not enough people that buy M2s to really grow a waiting list.

Just checked autotrader. Using a common 2021 year, there are 28 M2s for sale, while there are 130+ M3/M4s.

For the OG M2 there were 615, 2380, and 2828 OG M2s 2016-2018, respectively, built according to a production sheet I found on here.

Just some additional info in case anyone is curious.. That’s about 6 M2s per dealership in the US using the 2380 figure divided by 367 dealers here.. No M2C production data available from what I was looking up. I expect and hope the production numbers for the US will be similar or higher considering it’s now being built in Mexico. Also hoping for that seeing as I’m the only vote in the 10-15 range lol!

I highly doubt this

You need to keep in mind the sampling bias of this poll and this forum

Pretty much only the most hardcore BMW driving enthusiasts are on this forum. Of course we are going to be high up on the list. I know from my dealer that the list is much longer than you think

The demand for this vehicle is insane

I was going to add to my post that given the low numbers of M2s built, being number 3 on a list may not be a good thing.

That’s not too bad though 6 per dealership in one year since some dealers get 1-2 the bigger ones should get a decent chunk, but also with it being built in Mexico should mean a lot more being built for here quickly I’d think..

Yeah I wouldn't worry. My store has 11 on the list.

Once these start coming in and the reviews are out, it'll be a tough car to get.

So many people fail to realize this. It is not going to improve, it is only going to worsen!

Agreed. Spoke to three dealers here in Sydney and they have 70 orders in (in total) as of a couple of weeks ago. Extrapolate that to 50 dealers in Aus alone @ 23 per dealer. And we are considered a small market here. I don't think BMW have anything to worry about.

For those of you who are 1st or 2nd in line, and maybe even 3rd, are you worried at all that you'll be taking delivery of this car at a point where the economy will very much be feeling the recent interest rate hikes?

Will you all still be willing to finance this car at rates likely well above 6%, even with great credit? This assumes, of course, that you will not be paying cash for your car. I plan on setting aside as much cash as possible to hedge against high borrowing costs.

I'm not terribly worried, it doesn't blow out my budget on a monthly level and if I have a rate above the current inflation rate I'll prioritize paying it off faster. I'm sure I'll refi it at some point though.

With the current market most likely I will be paying the same monthly as my $83K M3 for a $75K M2. And I got my G80 at 5.5% off.
