Undecided. Might not be the best time to add a car with my portfolio being down nearly 40%

But I also still daily a Kia Soul (I just love it, don't judge) so my decision-making can be dramatically different than most 😂 |

The ones he can order will have the steering wheel on the wrong side for you. Good luck.

Haha, I regularly buy both transmission options and keep the one I like if I feel strongly one way or the other. I’ve done that with every M starting with the E46.

I have enough toys so adding the M2 can wait if the opportunity cost is too great. That $70k could scoop up some cheap tech stocks and a bunch of leaps that can possibly net a CSL and a Taycan Turbo in a year or two. |

I currently fall into the undecided crowd. If the recession is rather significant then I will probably delay until things begin to show signs of improving. There is no urgency for me. Plus I have amazing patience.

I voted "undecided." I really hate the idea of paying more than a few percent on a loan. And if rates keep going up, I can certainly wait it out. This isn't a life or death type vehicle. Ideally, people stop buying high end goods for a few months and rates go back to where they should be.

Seems improbable with this car specifically (given the hype) but worth asking for those of you on the inside. Any chance of in-house financing offering to buy down interest rates or offering discounts? Dealers will be several months into feeling this current squeeze when the G87 lands.
I have come across recent G80/2 owners who claim they paid MSRP minus a discount for a new build. |

Good discussion question. For me, I’m more on the side of waiting for the Comp to come out and see if it will be a manual. That will be the deciding factor. Although there is whispers of a recession, I’m still onboard with purchase if it matches my needs.

Fidelity Investments I have multiple funds I have invested in over the last year it’s been a roller coaster ride, but I’m still getting a good return of course. I’ve been adding $500/ week to my investment of my funds when the markets dropped I bought more funds each time much better way to save for the car

Do you guys factor in the tax implications? I assume you're both speaking about post tax investments with liability for capital gains tax (especially on accounts held less than a year...) I've thought about doing this as a quick way to make a few % points above a money market fund, but my calculations show short-term capital gains tax eroding almost all of the gains, especially in this market where everything seems to be doing a nose dive. |
