I have owned an E39 528i for 2 years now.
My dad had an E39 525tds and absolutely loved the car. Unfortunately, finding a reasonable tds nowadays is impossible.

This is a totally different car as the E46. ItÂ’s a comfy cruiser, even with the M-technic suspension.

That being said, of that generation, the manuals were way faster than the auto versions (Unsure why the manual is called “rare” as there are plenty about). The manual 528i hit 100km/h in 7.5s versus 8.8s for the autobox.
So granny can lift up her skirt and get away pretty fast if she wants.

Mine is carbon black with cream interior and M-technic suspension and steering wheel.
Also has the sportseats and the rare aerodynamics pack (which was an original BMW accessory)
Now has 180000km (so 112k m).

They’re appreciating fast though. Which is maybe a factor to take in account if you only want to keep the car for few years before moving to the next “toy”.

Few pics with summer and with winter wheels.
