This is the one iteration of the M2 that is a joke. I do not care for this car/treatments at all. The base M2 in normal factory form is far more attractive. This is the spec if Vin Diesel needs an M2 in Fast N Furious #20000000000000000000000000043546778888

Same here. I turned down my dealer's HEA spec and mentioned the inability to get MP parts as a main driver; he wasn't convinced that was the case. I just want to see how much these things are going to cost stateside

Take that for what it is, but there's nothing wrong with "because racecar" mentality. We all have it to some degree or we wouldn't be here. |

I'll do the duck tail rear spoiler in CF and the mirror caps to tie in the CF roof. That's it. Still undecided on color. TR or BG. Any thoughts?

I think we miss the point of this version and all of its parts. It's INTENDED to create commotion and interest and maybe even controversy! And it has certainly done that! It's marketing 101.
Not much I'll buy or add to my G87 but I've looked at every picture and video, and read every comment on every post. So BMW has accomplished their mission. It got our attention. |

The main point of M Performance parts is to increase profits. The second reason is/was to enhance looks whilst improving performance (or at least not hindering it). M Performance parts (or BMW Performance in the E-series days) have always been popular even without the tacky CF bullshit they got now. Goes hand-in-hand with the current design language of BMWs, though, so... They used to sell strut braces, big-brake kits, larger intercoolers, Recaro seats, short shift kits, DME tunes, exhausts, whole bumpers... Now? Besides some lighter wheels and lowering springs, there are no performance-improving parts on offer these days. Just carbon fibre spats and wings that mostly do literally nothing but look awful, e.g., this M2. But they do sure raise eyebrows and make people comment on Internet forums.

I just traded (signed and transferred in December) my 2021 M3 (BG, 6MT) for a 2023 M2 (TR, 6MT). This will only be my second BMW. I’ve been a fan of BMW my whole life. My grandmother’s brother worked for BMW for nearly 50 years and my first experience was in a 1994 325i owned by a friend. The amount of constant hate I see on these forums is really quite off putting from the community. I know that most of you reading this won’t give a damn about it, but I couldn’t help but share my opinion anyway. Going into the 2021 M3 as my first BMW I was caught off guard by the amount of constant hate out on it for its appearance. Acknowledging that I’m far from an expert, I personally loved it. Planned on being burried with it in fact. That was until BMW announced the new M2 and I was given an opportunity and a trade in value that I couldn’t pass up. Thanks to the OP for the video and pictures (I can’t wait to get there and see it myself). It made me drool in anticipation of recieiving my own spec (whenever, and however long, that may be). I love the look of this car and can’t wait to sit in my own. And the performance parts on this one at BMW Welt will end up on my car if I’m able to afford them later on. I was taught a long time ago that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. It would be nice to see that brought back into this culture a bit. If you don’t like it, don’t be afraid to voice your opinion, but once it’s been voiced stop beating the drum from for awhile and let those of us that do like it enjoy it.
