The lower front fender area would be perfect to have something like that there much like the Z4

I agree, made a Photoshop of what it would look like with side M badges like the M3/4 a while back that you can see here. Notice, I didn't say gill or vent as it is neither. Calling it that seems to trigger some people. It's just an M badge and IMO helps to break up the long hood by drawing your eye to it.

Yup, looks better with a design element to break it up a little and it helps with tricking the eyes to make the bonnet not appear so long. I was thinking something closer to this render but a more subdued version like the Z4 has that’s not as big or pronounced in the render.

I only drove it for about 10 minutes, a mix of city roads, back roads and a highway sprint. It pulls juuuuust fine. I felt absolutely no issue with the S58 being paired to this manual. You just have to know how to drive. TH should’ve pulled from at least 3rd from 30, if not 2nd. The gears are tall. I didn’t get to toss it around, obviously, but I could tell just from leaning on it through a few turns that the back end will break out quite nicely if and when you want it to. This is a more capable and more confident car.

Build quality feels great. ID8 is very nice. It rides surprisingly well with the chassis in comfort, from what I remember. The car definitely looks bigger, and feels bigger from behind the wheel as well. Oh and the standard sport seats are actually really nice. A lot more comfortable than the M2C I had.

As an owner of multiple F87s, the car does feel more grown up, but not in a bad way at all. My wife said it looked more grown up, and she likes it better than my F87.
I know its been talked about a lot but man that wheel gap in the front stands out pretty bad in pictures, is it that noticeable in person?

Unfortunately yes. This was right before they rolled it out of the showroom for me.

That's wild, it makes it look like the front wheels are way too small or something. I personally don't like lowering cars and having to deal with clearance issues/bottoming out due to the area I live in but it seems like it's almost needed to get rid of that gap.

Should drop around ~1/4" after the new springs settle in but even then, a drop is mandatory IMO.

Love it! Seeing the ZB next to LBB it looks better than I expected, especially in partial clouds.
Grats man!

I'm also not one who likes lowering cars now (takes me back to my HS days), but feel that is definitely is needed given that wheel gap. Fortunately, the M Performance suspension option allows lowering, so if it were me I'd probably go that route and just lower it 10-15mm or so. In the picture above (#25) it looks so much better lowered.

Actually it’s a little disappointing because BMWUSA.com lists it at 3,814lbs w/ automatic and sunroof. I was hoping zero’s stock weigh in would come in closer to 3,715lbs given he has a CF roof and manual transmission.

I know of several gentlemen that gained a 911 and lost a wife that way.

Odd you mention that cause I've had many 911 variants and as much as she hated them divorce was never on the table.

I suspect once we see the G87 in the wild she'll reconsider.

If not I may be stuck with the new GT3...

So we know exactly what the spec of the carbwas that BMW weighed plus how full was the gas tank?

The other variable is the scales (their accuracy and calibration).
