In your situation, try to get the deposit, escalate it up the chain and if no luck then bite the bullet. Forget about it, take it as a life lesson and move on, assuming that you can’t find someone else to take your allocation.
You can get your a deposit back before taking the allocation. Since the allocation was taken for the order, then it's a fair deal that the deposit is now non-refundable.

Says counsel for....

I dare say there are a number of factors in play so to come out and make any uninformed outright statement would be thoroughly misleading.

GM not the General Sales Manager

If I was you, I’d go there in person

Do not except no for an answer ❕

If its status 112 with a build week many people would be happy to take your allocation. Post on the G87 FB groups as well!

I will take your allocation if the color/options can still be changed. You will not lose 1 dollar.

This whole thread is nuts. I had multiple deposits at different dealerships to make sure I would have a car by April. Imagine if this was the case. I guess I got lucky. Based on this thread I will never employ this strategy again!! Luckily there are guys here willing to help find a solution. Crazy!!

If the order is still modifiable then the dealer is just being a dick and taking your deposit

If the order is no longer modifiable then they have a case

Either way the SM or GM should hear your concerns.

I don't see any issue with multiple deposits at multiple dealers, you just have to remember to pull them based on the deposit agreement. Both of mine were refundable until I push the button on an allocation, then they were not. Since I would only push one allocation forward not an issue. And then I bought an HEA and pulled them both.

why did you give them a non-refundable deposit? NEVER do that.

Talk to the general manager—they really shouldn’t have a hard time finding a buyer
