I'm going to hold off on any sort of lowering, I have a rather awkward driveway/garage and the additional ground clearance is welcome. Maybe if we move I'll consider it, but the stock height isn't an eyesore to me (like it seems to be for other people).

Does that destination fee normally go to the dealership or is it just sucked up into the BMW corporation regardless?

My guessing it goes to BMW to pay the transportation company, not the dealer, ow dealers would be charging different amounts and use it as a source of extra $$

I did the PCD few years back and it was great fun. If anyone has the option to do, it’s worth the time and effort to get there, plus you enjoy driving your car back home

Congrats! And wow, 469 days... I thought I had it bad at 345 days for my G80 - 469 days is just brutal. Awesome spec, and I'm sure the trip over there was surreal. I too flew first class down to SC just this past February just to make the trip extra special.
Couple things that stood out to me in your post: 1) I'm surprised you thought the PCD cafeteria food was better than the hotel meal. I thought the hotel meal was actually pretty good while the PCD cafeteria was very standard cafeteria faire. 2) I feel like those X5s in the "off-road" section are all in sort of bad shape. The one I had was idling pretty rough. Guess they're not good for the rough life.

I found the selection and quality of the PCD meal to be quite nice, lots of options and the sandwich/salad were top notch. In contrast the Marriott meal wasn't bad but the caprese salad didn't seem too fresh and the steak was overcooked. Agreed on the X5's, I was impressed by what they could do on the course but they really don't seem like they are suited to doing that regularly. If I was getting one CPO'd I would be very wary of carfax from Greenville

Congrats on picking up your car. I'm sure it was a blast to drive home. My build is the same. so close to pulling the trigger on the Cognac seats. Got the Highlighted seats because I wanted to see a car with the Cognac seats, pretty rare to see. Enjoy !!!

I’ve used Extreme Colors twice on both of my PCD F87 M2s. Very happy with their work and great staff too!
I return every year for the annual service on the ceramic coating. I have them tint my windows, wrap the entire front end, mirrors, rockers, area in front of the rear wheels etc with PPF, then ceramic coat everything plus the wheels. |

I’ll add that the Greenville Marriott staff was super friendly when we stayed overnight for both PCD experiences. We found both the dinner the night before, and the breakfast, the morning of our delivery to be very good.
That said, the Greenville Marriott was, I’m guessing, built in the 1980s and looks and feels like it. BMW seems to house visiting BMW staff for meetings, training etc there - assume they get great rates. Personally, I wish BMW would select a hotel that’s as memorable as the PCD experience; I doubt anyone would knowingly book the Greenville Marriott for a personal stay. |

Break in service? This an M2 thing, or a BMW thing? Pretty sure the ‘free’ servicing only covers one oil change @ 10K miles/each year?

It's a very common car industry thing, BMW requires you to do an oil change after ~1300 miles, whenever that happens. It's covered under the three years of free scheduled maintenance.

It is a M thing. Non-M vehicles do not receive a break-in service unless customer requested, aka customer pay. A M break-in service is included with the 3/36 maintenance.

Huh, TIL. Didn't realize it wasn't applicable for non-M cars.
