EDIT: Okay, I faxed Bill Gates and asked him to do Microsofts version of Photoshop, MS Paint and he listened to me and this is what he edited.
It was very expensive, please send me BMW Bucks.

Looks fantastic!

And Autoflex/Clarity Coat is incredible. I had it in San Marino Blue on my F87 for 5 years and it looked brand new when I sold it last week!

Ravenseal, it's not plastidip. That's old tech.

How does the cost compare to a wrap? That F87 looks stunning in that blue

A bit more expensive but it really does look like “paint”.

Autoflex/Clarity Coat is about 25% less than a wrap, at least here. It's sprayed on (7 layers), and takes less installation time than a full car wrap. My installer charges about $3,500 and you can do it in any color. More for larger cars or trucks.

Looks and acts exactly like paint, and protects better than PPF. And no edges to peel up like a wrap.

Here it is next to an M6 in San Marino Blue. The dealership employees thought it was original paint.

Shiiiiiieeeeett..... that's tempting at that price. I'll have to look around. Would love to get a blue like either of these!

Thanks for the info to you both!

Found this video -- so to over simplify it they spray a peelable layer over the real paint and then basically paint over that. It looks so similar to real paint because it pretty much is.

That's so sick!

Nice color. Seems like a good idea for the G87 and its crap color palette...

This is very cool, especially at that price as you mentioned. Thanks for sharing this!

Side note — fantastic username, “I’m seriously.”

Yes, but there's a flex agent in the top, "color" coats, so it doesn't crack . And then 1 to 2 layers of clear coat to give it shine.

It's washable, waxable, ceramic coat-able just like paint.

Not all states have installers. And you need to find a good, experienced shop with a good paint booth and high quality equipment. Just like a good auto painter.

Rose City Dip in Portland is excellent.

Comments welcome!

Is this a custom paint job or a wrap?

It looks amazing !

Protects better than PPF?? You have my attention.

Does it come off without damaging the laint or clear coat?

I can answer - no damage to the paint when removing / peeling off - I would not attempt it DIY though, best to have the installer do it.

Correct, I've seen it done in person, but not on my car, which looked as good on the day I sold it as it did brand new in 2018.
