This most likely won’t be my last S65 though. I’ll be looking for a dedicated track car sometime in the future and an E92 M3 is at the top of the list. My E90 is just too nice to gut and building a track car from stock is very expensive. A longtime friend is buying mine and I’ll instead look for something already gutted, caged, and track ready.

A shame my favorite exhaust option to come out so far is well out of my price range for an exhaust 😅.
But thanks for the write up from y’all over at PSI. Very much appreciated getting the full lowdown on this new exhaust option. |

Sorry, but way to expensive for an exhaust mod, no matter how good the fit and finish is. And, I do not believe that there is been substantial power unleashed thru this. If you choose to cough up your money, then congrats and enjoy it in good health.

The sound is nice but the steep price will make it prohibitive for most

Seriously though, how much weight savings is this exhaust where the savings are so much that it makes any noticeable power/weight difference in performance? LOL the marketing sounds good, but it’s a bit much. The tips look good though!
If I was in charge of marketing for a bolt-on part, I’d just show a dyno graph of the difference in HP/TQ versus stock…that’s all the marketing that’s needed IMO. Thanks. |

You’re paying for OEM+ material fit and finish. Definitely something most wont buy but there are a select few who like going these type of routes. I personally cant do $12k on an exhaust because in the end its just a metal pipe.
If Akra went equal legnth with resonated sections to tone out the rasp then thats definitely different and could call it “game changing” instead of just scanning OEM exhaust routes and just basically making a very beautiful piece with resonantors deleted. TLDR: $12k for titanium resonator delete with oem fit and finish.

as far as marketing goes, yes, def helps, but the quality of Akra is IMO superior. Price is expensive but it's also relative right? Also the debate on money to HP can yield never ending views and endless discussions lol.

15-20% of what the car is worth for an exhaust... That's going to fly off the shelves!

Unless they assume the M2 is everyone's 3rd or 4th car/track toy, how did that % really come to be? Or am I just crazy here? Legit, who cant go to a decent custom shop and get a similar sound (if not better), and weight reduction for a lesser price? |

But what does this extra quality really add over 'lower' quality exhausts like SS, Milltek, Remus, AA, Fabspeed and so on? More power? Well, no. More durability? Not even. Better sound? It's subjective, but it's not related to the build quality. Better aesthetics? Of course, but only when you unpack it, because you don't look often under the car I guess (like the strut bar under the bonnet, we all agree that the old carbon brace was much better looking, but how ofnet do you look under the hood? ). I mean, a better quality suspensions offers a better driving experience, nice looking wheels are in front of your eyes every time you look at your car, but a high quality and good looking exhaust what really adds...? |
