You will be doing a lever action wedging in the seam between the trim and the plastic piece that pops out. I used 2 small plastic pry tools and worked it from the end closest to the console. Use 1 tool to pop it up a bit and then use the other tool to work it up a bit more. Then slowly work it out using both tools going back and forth between the 2 tools.
Remember to use some type of tape to protect the trim piece because you will be using the trim surround as a lever. Here is a video where he uses 1 big tool and no tape protection. I would recommend using 2 smaller tools and some tape (just in case) and then gently work it free. Brute force like he does in the video is not a good idea cuz things can and do break - especially plastic. |
