No doubt dealers were making the most of the Covid environment/chip shortage and took advantage of demand outstripping supply. As supply continues to catch up, deals below MSRP will continue to crop up, including cars like the M2, as well as the G42. It's a somewhat limited market where the hardcore buyers have their cars at this point, so supply should continue to build. Of course, the huge markup for used cars is conversely going away, so if you're looking to trade-in or sell your current car, you're likely to take a hit.

Absolutely. Over a year ago they were gouging the hell out of people, adding markups over sticker. Now inventory is coming back. And yeah…trade-ins are getting low balled again. I had to sell my last car myself.

VW dealers around me are still playing the limited availability game. I wanted a new hatchback, and they told me msrp + 10,000 to order a Golf R. Needless to say I started to reconsider my wants, and went to test drive a Genesis G70 which was really nice. On the way home from there I stopped at BMW and test drove a M240i and loved it.....Ordered one the next day, and now I'm waiting. MSRP and none of those stupid add-ons, so I'm happy.

500 Here
Just took delivery of my 2024 Mineral White M240i in Phoenix and received 500 off. Also was able to get 5.29% which I GUESS in this economy is not that bad. Sure miss the 1.9 and 2000 off of my last car in 2019, but those days are over..... Loving the new car and have 900 miles on her so far. Already have M emblems on the side, weather techs and full front PPF XPEL.....

Third BMW Ordered
Sorry, I should have put more context, but yah: This is my third white coupe ordered from AZ.
First one, ordered a 2011 135i manual in alpine white, moonroof delete. Second: 2020 M240i in mineral white and oyster sensatech, manual. Now, Third and final for a while says the wife: 2024 Mineral White M240i with Oyster Vernasca leather and have about 1000 miles on it now. I do miss the manual but I know I will get used to it. Second one from my friend Thomas in Phoenix and he really treats his customers awesome... Will always go back. |

I paid MSRP for my 2022. My local dealer tried to tack on $5K. I immediately called another dealer that is an hour away and made a payment over the phone to lock in my order at MSRP - moral of the story, shop dealers if needed.

When I bought my GTI in July 2020, the dealers thought they were never gonna sell a car again. I got 20% off msrp and 2% interest.
2 years later I traded that car in for $300 less than I paid for it and bought a car at sticker. Crazy times. Been shopping dealers around me for an order. Best offer is 2500 off. One of them is trying to get a 3k deposit out of me... others are 1k. |
