My CA thinks between mid Feb and early March is when we would see the car at the dealer. Sounds like the car will get shipped to the port in Baltimore. Then fitted with the HAS kit before getting trucked west to Minneapolis. Someone else on here is on a similar timing and path with the final end point being St Louis. They were told Feb/March as well. My gut is telling me that it will be no later than mid February......

Isn't when we find out what ship the car is on when we get a pretty good picture of timing?

Yes that’s my understanding. The ships all have published schedules and the dealers have historical experience with the usual port-dealer timeline. Once you’re on a boat your rep should be able to provide a much more accurate prediction.

Found this thread and the prior one from some members in the G20 section (since they're made in the Mexico plant too) who've ordered M340i's. I have an M340i that was built on 11/30, went RFT on 12/1, and here three weeks later is still showing RFT. The car is my wife's next car, so at one point in late November was a bit hopeful for pre-25th delivery.

I noticed that FRONTIER ACE is due in Veracruz tomorrow, the 23rd, and it seems to do deliveries to Brunswick, so fingers crossed this is the ship.

This could be exciting. I saw it also goes to New York as well.

Anyone who was on Metis Leader get any updates?

They told me my car would be leaving for the dealership on 12/24. I wonder if it did but the status doesn't update until it arrives.

I'll call Genius when I get back from my work out.

It's been a full week of ready for transport status. Based on others' feedback I expect a bit more time in this status but the last week went by pretty fast.

My M340i went RFT on 12/1 and stayed at that status until today when it is now "at the port" (so 26 days went by in RFT status). Others have experienced similar non-updates between RFT and ATP.

Less than 4 weeks in RFT doesn't seem too bad. If it's at the port does that mean it was sitting for maybe 2 weeks before it was put onto the boat, then about a 1.5 week boat ride to the port?

Genius told me my car is "In Service" which means they're doing final checks on it and installing HAS.

It was scheduled to be released on 12/24, but the Genius I spoke with assumed the delay was due to holidays. Makes sense.

Next expected status is "Released to carrier" and when that happens she told me they should have an estimated ETA.

Finally switched to In Transit this AM! It's on the Glovis Sun with ETA at NYPOA 1/10. I was RFT for exactly 3 weeks.

Just changed to in transit so called the genius: car was loaded in Veracruz on 12/24 and is on the Glovis Sun also. It's due into Brunswick on 1/06.

Still stuck on RFT since 12/15, per the Genius today we aren't on a boat yet, still waiting assignment.

Stay strong, I was in a similar boat (ha) last time around. RFT is the secret killer.

Do either of you know if it’s common for these ships to anchor so frequently? My app shows that this ship hasn’t moved since like 8 hours ago.

From what I've gathered digging through other threads it seems common for them to go in/out of port a couple of times before finally starting the main voyage.

Sorry to chime in, but yes it is. The entire shipment may not be exactly ready/in order at the port and another vessel needs to start being loaded, so they pull away and anchor until ready again.

Holy crap. I just checked the production tracker and my car is now in "In Transit" status. It went into RFT on Dec 20th. I'm going to contact my CA or BMW genius and see if I can get more info about what boat it's on. This is exciting!

Ok. Just talked to the BMW genius. My car made it onto the Glovis Sun. It is set to be at the Port of Baltimore on 1/12. I'd say my chances of getting the car before March are pretty good.
