AA single midpipe saves about 27 pounds, for those that care about numbers adding up
(It also sounds better). I'm shooting for very close to 3,600lbs with my build.

Sooooo the OPs weight is pretty close to what BMW lists as the curb weight for the manual w/default config (sunroof and comfort seats) ~3747lbs. BMW is being accurate here.
I made a spreadsheet to see how easy/difficult it is to reduce weight in this car. I believe that you can get a manual under 3600lbs (at a 1/4th tank) without too much effort or expense assuming the car is spec'd appropriately. - BMW carbon buckets = -22 lbs (11 lbs per seat) - Carbon roof = -48 lbs - lighter wheels (826M) with the same tires = -27.2 lbs - Lithium-Ion battery = -39 lbs - Midpipe = -15 lbs That puts us at 151.2 lbs of weight reduction. Sooo using the OPs weight of 3729, minus the weight of the mods above, puts us at 3578 lbs. Last edited by Celestion; 05-08-2024 at 11:54 AM.. |

I'd personally get a lithium battery from an M3/M4 to replace the M2's AGM battery. It still saves about 30 pounds if I remember the figure correctly, without risking issues with your electrical system or your warranty. Anti-Gravity batteries are great, but I'd only put them on a track car.

Aside from finding ways to shed weight the next best thing you can do to improve handling is lower the car which lowers its entire center of gravity.
So used to lowered cars that when I drive one on stock suspension it feels like an SUV. |

You need to register the battery and if the new battery has different Ah rating, you'll need to code that in as well. BimmerCode only has the ability to change the Ah rating while only BimmerLink can register the battery. I believe the Carly app can do both but that's a subscription whereas with BimmerCode/Link you pay for the apps once.
