You guys have been so helpful, I really appreciate it. I’m trying to make a deal happen on a car in Florida, but other than that there isn’t too much product. I’m definitely going to move forward though as soon as I can, so I look forward to joining the community

I drove to a dealership to see the carbon buckets vs. the standard sport seats, the different exterior colors, carbon vs. aluminum interior trim, etc. Went with my son-in-law. Neither of us liked the look of the carbon roof in the sunlight - it had a yellow tint. I prefer the sunroof to be honest, and yes, I occasionally do track days with a helmet and have never had an issue with headroom and sunroofs. I didn't like the optional carbon buckets either. Too hard to get in and out of, plus I want a manual and that bump in the middle looks like it would be uncomfortable working the clutch. But I see other replies here saying the carbon roof and optional buckets are a must-have for them, so to each his own. For me, must-haves are the Head-Up Display, carbon fiber interior trim, heated steering wheel, and the red brakes.

Great car. I optioned the 6MT, carbon package, m-suspension and LED lights.
The suspension fixes the ride height and carbon package is cool but not essential. The seats look amazing and compensate a bit for the less than great steering feel. Are any of these essential? No, but I do appreciate them all. |

Yup, I’m actually working on the one in Delray Beach. I got a deposit on it, but it all comes down to how carmax treats me on Tuesday when I get over there. So fingers crossed!

FYI if you are going to the Carmax on Sample, swing over to CarDrop next door with your Carmax quote and they will beat it. They initially beat the Carmax offer by about 7.5% and I was able to get them to do 13% over. |

I’m actually going to have it shipped to me, but I’ll know by Tuesday. I got a great offer from CarMax, it just comes down to if they honor the online offer. I don’t know if there’s a CarDrop near me, I’m in the DC area. |

Same Questions
I am pretty much in the same situation - just ordering first new BMW and wondering about options. Have everything picked out but had questions about Drivers Package. Is that worth $2500? Can you get the speed bump to 477 any other way?
Second question: How do you know if and when dealers will actually have an allocation, since we are getting to end of the model year. I would like to stick with 2024 since would prefer TR, which is not available for 2025. I have only very small BMW dealers in this area. Thank you for all the help you guys have been providing. Thank you for the help
sammytothe,
Thanks for the advice. Did what you suggested, found dealer with allocation and got it ordered today. Spent way too much time lusting at pictures of TR M2. Now I've got a real one on its way. Thanks again. BD |

Awesome, so glad to hear that!! My main dealer is still trying to source me one, they said to give them until tomorrow. The other dealer that found the allocation wanted a $5000 deposit to put the order in which I thought was outrageous considering I’ve only heard of people doing $1000 deposits.

Looks like I’ll be joining the team! I got a great deal from carmax on my CT4V Blackwing, and BMW Delray just shipped up all of the paperwork for me to sign off on. I’ll take delivery of the white m2 when I’m back from Vacation the week of 6/1
Thank you everyone for all of your help! |

For anyone else contemplating options, I would recommend not picking up the wireless charging option as its pretty useless. My iPhone (in a thin case) triggers the overheat on the actual pad itself so its doesn't charge very well. I just end up plugging into the usb-c terminal to charge.
Save the couple of hundred bucks. |

IMO there are no "must haves" other than you must have an M2. lol
The rest are all wants of various importance. With that said after owning the car for 4 months and 1,700 miles the only thing I really wish I had was the CF interior trim. Could definitely do without wireless charging and eSIM. I love the auto in this car. One of best I've experienced. I'm older with a lot of injuries from head to toe and my days or rowing are over. My last manual was a 2018 Mustang GT and I stress it was my last. I bought in January 2024. A car they got in and the original guy backed out so they were very motivated to move it. I did not pay anywhere close to MSRP.

Quick update - Car will be delivered to a local dealer on Friday, and I should be able to pick it up either Saturday night when I get back from vacation or Sunday when the dealer opens. I’m pumped!
