Agreed, incremental adjustments to a product are not LCI's. LCI's are 1/2 way through the life cycle ( Bumpers, lights, small interior hardware changes)
The G82/80 LCI may have spooked the short bus folk into thinking this new steering wheel and seat trim merits the term "LCI" when AG isn't stating anything about an LCI.

Again. B M W is calling it an LCI. I don't know what else to tell ya. Speaking of short bus, I think yours just pulled up.

Send me links to BMW press releases where the words "facelift" or "LCI" are mentioned.

Maybe it's because I'm so used to the M2 design, but I think his redesign made it look a lot more awkward. I feel like he got rid of a lot of the bold and square design language which are some of the elements which contributed to people liking the car so much.

SketchMonkey really has a knack for design! It’s interesting to think about how his touch could have influenced the M3 & M4. BMW should definitely consider bringing in this guy! Designing the ultimate driving machine should be in the hands of those who truly understand what makes a car special.
It’s frustrating when they label minor updates as a whole new LCI.

G8x actually does have that shape on the lower front too. Grill just comes down in the space between.

I actually like the car the way it is now. When I first saw it, I hated it. I’ve come to terms with it and enjoy it as-is now. I think I figured out why.

The F87 has a very feminine, curvy shape. The G87 has a boxy, masculine shape. I don’t know about about the rest of everyone on here, but I prefer to look at the feminine figure (on people) rather than masculine. Once I made that realization, I knew why the F87 spoke to me more. And since it’s a car, and not a woman, I got over it.

Does that make sense? Lol

As an E92 M3 and G87 M2 owner in my distinct experience the F87 M2 just looks "cute" to me not sexy like a Ferrari. I would never have said this if F87 M2 owners didn't come here trying to insult people. I had no problem keeping that to myself. Each to his own.

The E9X is the most feminine looking M car produced in modern years. In stock form it has the cutest, softest, least aggressive visage; that was part of the reason I didn’t care for it as much despite owning 3 of them (…in between 2 E46 ///M3’s and 2 F82 ///M3’s).

I am guessing I do not fit into this posters definition of a “true man.” I was so caught up by the woke design comment that I missed the equally asinine “true man.” 😂

I don't think so. Boring yes. The uninitiated couldn't tell the difference between the 335i and M3. Feminine no.
Keep reaching.

It’s my opinion; one I have echoed for years. YMMV! It’s the weakest front end IMHO.

But honestly, automotive design isnt always artistically driven.. BMW design is heavily influenced by marketing and business purposes to promote sales for higher tier products or future iteration. (Physics too, of course)

With all due respect for the guy though, its a bit unfair to be evaluated from purely artistic approach on a finalized production car.

Especially considering the car was literally just launched. I saw one for the first time in person like 6-months ago.

I don’t find any appeal to this car without aftermarket parts… not even M performance parts can save this one..
