I am not sure what your build is, but keep in mind the 6MT and Auto have very different wireless chargers (at least on the 24s). I would totally get the wireless with the auto, but not the center console space robbing MT wireless charger.

All the wireless charger does is overheat the phone. It's a waste. There's a usb in the front "cubby" & a usb-c in the center console.

I wasn’t aware it takes up storage space in the console for MT equipped cars. Would you happen to know if there are any threads with photos of the consoles so I can see what I’m going to be losing out on? I have my ‘25 on order but it’s still changeable. I had a ‘24 manual rental for a week and I could have sworn the charger was in the front by the cup holders.

Is the difference one of location and not functionality? An earlier post in this thread seems to say that the charger is located inside the arm rest. So I am confused.....

In any case, after reading a lot about the over-heating problem, I now have second thoughts about getting the charger, but will wait until the dealer has an actual 2025 M2 on the lot for me to check out its layout.

Yes, this is what I mean. In the 23/24 cars with the MT the wireless charger is underneath the arm rest behind the shifter. So it is in an enclosed space and takes up storage room.

In the automatic it is in front of the cup holders.

Neither is great, but the auto one is better because it has some airflow.

Just for reference.
Yes that is what I ended up for my last purchase in May from a local dealer.

Another question for all the M2 owners, did you pay: (1) lower than MSRP, (2) MSRP, or (3) MSRP+some premium?

Since I'm ordering a customized build of the M2 and not driving one off the lot, I wonder how likely a dealer would go for a price lower than MSRP.

I've no experience with BMW dealers, but it is almost impossible to negotiate the price on the Cayman GTS 4.0, and one would be lucky to get a Nissan Z without paying a hefty dealer premium.
On custom ordered cards it usually is difficult to get discounts. Probably MSRP is your best bet...most will likely try to ask for an additional mark up cause its an M car and/or special car and limited order/availability....don't fall for it. Stay firm!

He wouldn't get to finish the sentence with me...he'd be talking to himself in person or by phone! Touche' with your counter and MSRP! Way to go.

Went without wireless charging since it’s in the armrest for manual cars and I’m sure I’d forget my phone in there all the time.
Let me just tell you if you live in a place that has temps over 85-90 degrees in the Summer and have a manual G87, driving for even a few minutes with your phone in the in-armrest wireless charger tends to cause it to overheat. There’s no HVAC going into that storage compartment and if you left the car outside it’s probably 150 degrees in there once you close the armrest again. Terrible design on top of the fact this junky charger design removes the needed tech for the Digital Key. Probably my main complaint about the manual M2 though, so pretty minor.
