Nah I'm not going to DIY it. I have 827Ms the dealer is going to install before I take delivery, I'm just going to have them set up the Car Eye too.

What did they quote you if you don't mind me asking?

I thought all M cars were off by default from the factory?
I’ve never had to mess with that button on any of mine.

With the hardware I think they said $1,600. It was so outrageous my mind blanked out and I immediately just said NAH lol

Oof. That's a stinger. I know MSRP on the kit itself is just over $600, so ~$1k for labor is insane.

I won't be paying that. Hopefully they'll take care of me, but if they try to tell me it's $1,000 to install a f-ing dashcam I'm going to laugh my way out of there and do it myself. I already have a ton of stuff to install on the car anyway. What's one more thing?

Plus, I've been taking apart and modifying exclusively 2 series BMWs since August of 2022. The first thing I did to my G42 with 180 miles on it was take apart the whole dash to install the M Performance matte CF trim kit. If I didn't have a service tech I know that is incredible, I'd probably do a better job than whoever installed it.

I just want the BMW warranty, but it's not worth $1,000.

Awesome definitely interested in this.
From my very limited research it seems to be the least obtrusive.
