I don't know about handshakes but I got headlight flashes from M3/M4 all the time. I am in a G87 M2.

I honestly don't know that I've ever been waved at, got the bird, peace, or anything in the M3.

Funnily, I often get waved at by Jeeps when I'm in the old Land Cruiser. I assume they mistakenly thought it was a Jeep because they are quick to pull that wave down when they realize
