well i'm gonna try supercharging the M first and seem if that works to fulfill my needs... if not my friend & I are already planning to build his old EG coupe & make it GS-R Turbo

Your 2.0 block was a b20 or a stroked b18? Ive never had the guts to go LS/VTEC. Most Jdm b16a imported from japan were beaten to death(1st gen sir)(EF)

The EX has a D16Y8 which puts out 120hp, with a built engine 170hp tops is attainable. With a proper turbo they can be built to withstand in excess of 400+hp. It all just depends on how deep his pocketbook is.

If he has an SI then he has B series engine which is the B16A2. That puts out 158hp. With a built B16 200+hp all motor is a beast. With a turbo they can put out 450+hp.

Give as much information as possible pertaining to the specs and modifications of said 1998 civic.

A Spoon engine is an engine that is suppose to be built for racing purposes only. They are highly unreliable, and need to be tuned up 20 times more often than a regular honda engine. Spoon is just a company that takes their products, such as cams, rods, pistons, and puts them on a honda engine then sells the engine. Sure more power is produced, but it might break down half way down the block.

Where are you located exactly..Im in Montreal over here its JDM land. R33,R32, GTI-R, EVO I, Aristo, Chaser etc are the new civic's and sadly they're now all getting riced out by kids. It was getting so ridiculous that on April 29th the gov passed a law and put a hold on JDM cars for the next 6 months(you can't import them).

I can't wait to get out of here. 1.60$/liter gas last summer. My driver's licence cost me about 140 per year, bike plates 1K/year, car about 400$/year. No wonder why everyone in the states drive nice cars. Thats on top of the 13% sales taxes and 50% income taxes.
On an other note I think that it would be a driver's race between a 330I and a stock GSR teg or EM Civic SI(99-00).(1/4 mile wise)

I'm lined up at the drag strip. Dude in a 15 yr old honda pulls up and asks if I wanna race. His gf is riding passenger. He says "nice car. How much did it cost?" I tell him. We stage. He humiliates me.

I'm guessing is was just a built N/A motor and drag radials.

Who wins in that scenario? More importantly, who goes home with the bigger e-peen? The guy that saved 40-50k and has a quick car? Or, the guy that spent 40-50k and has a nice car?

Who says his daily driver isn't "better" than the bmw?

I'm making my civic into a more respectable faster honda over the summer. Going to be doing an H22 or K20 swap. With my 1.5inch drop, 17inch enkei's, on Potenza's, anti-swaybars, camber plates. I am truly excited about having a pretty damn fast FWD car that can keep up most of the big boys.

i've always been a tried & true B-series type of guy... fair warning, with the H you MAY run into issues with snapping axles.

K20 is another good route especially if you just want to stick with all motor... what year civic do you have?

i see you're up here in NorCal but if you want a referral to some friends in LA that still build motor's i can give you there number. Do It Dyno is the name of the shop.

Problem with those guys is they are HUGE STREET RACING FANATICS ... youtube "sonic racing" or "compton rob"
