I got a concussion two years ago in steamboat. Went way too hard into a table top and completely goofed on the landing. Hit back edge of board first catapulting me forward, head first into the snow.

lol I know what you mean. I went on about 5 or 6 trips before taking my brother and his friend and by the end of the day they were already pretty good. By the 2nd or 3rd time they were trying to do jumps and stuff. Me? maybe I'm not athletic enough or too chicken to do that kind of stuff. But I think if you are athletic you can pick things up very quickly. I remember having skied pretty well after just 2 hours of lessons my very first time. Of course I was a kid then and played sports. It's a different story now...haha

I haven't skiied in what seems like forever. But I always tried to keep my feet on the ground. Not much for the crazy stuff.
Wanna talk about falls that hurt like no other. Biting it while wakeboarding. I'm still a novice since I can only get out once a year or so. But considering that I have advanced pretty quickly. Anyways I was trying to do a switchfoot last summer with my buddies board that's set up for a much better rider than I. Well I was taking it half way and going back trying to work up the nerve. My friend could tell what I was thinking of doing so he cut the system and yelled "you sure about that" just as I started my move. Mind you I can hardly ride well normally haha. So I get around and think I'm good them BAM, I dip the front of the board and nose dive into the water doing around 35 mph. Thank god for the life vest, I could hardly breath or feel my body let alone swim. I called it a day after that. I sat in the boat and barely moved other then to get the beer to my lips haha.

I bruised my tailbone a couple years back wrestling practice when i landed on someone's knee....hurt for a good 6 months but the discomfort never went away. 2 months ago I tried to do a front side 360 and my tailbone hit the ice... and it got bruised again. I don't think my tailbone will ever fully heal.

i never really got hurt snowboarding. but the closest thing i have to a horror story was when the power went out at Mountain creek one night.it was 7:30ish and raining. i was 1/4 of the way down and stopped to wait for my friend when all of a sudden i saw the lights go out in big patches (imagine the crowd at a baseball game doing the wave.) this "wave" of power loss swept across the mountain right in front of me. for a good 10 minutes we were sitting in the dark shitting bricks not knowing what to do.
Another time me and my friends baked out the K-1 gondala on our way to the top of killington- didnt move for 30minutes in -10 degree weather. worst injury was smashing my elbow on a rock while shooting through the glade at Mt. Snow.
