Garbage Pail Kids were just a bunch of collector trading cards (like baseball cards) making fun of the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls that were also a huge hit in the 80's. The pictures were really disgusting and the parents hated them. Naturally if parents hated them the kids loved them. A lot of the kids who collected the cards back in the 80's (such as myself) still have them.
