Ha. It's their only comeback... I'm getting a kick out of all the defensive posts. So, how's your car?

Im relatively young (mid twenties) and I own my house and paid for my car.

I am also a rare case. I took some of my hard earned money and invested it in something when I went to college. When I graduated, my investment had done really well. Well enough for a good down payment on the house and I paid cash for the car.

By the way Dani, your always going to find younger people on message boards. Its not a true take on the demographics, but is usually where you find the younger crowd...

Unfortunately, I am going to miss the DC Metro HH this week. This is two in a row I will be sitting out . I may be placing my 335 order this week, so maybe that will cheer me up

but name calling can be so hurtful...

I'll have an update on my car on Monday, going to the bodyshop to look at it and get pricing on upgrades!

missing an event again! you might lose your status as part of the inner circle. and actually I might have to miss this one too but I'm hoping to make it.

Im 20. I paid flat out for all my cars. I live on my own and support myself (and goto school). I have worked since I was twelve (only part time then) and do very well for myself. I am waiting for the housing market to pop before I buy a house. My car investments have done much better then buying a house would have. $4800 into $150K in 6 years. I cant really complain.

I give props out to all the other younger people who bought their own car. Its tough but worth it... I appreciate it a lot more then anything I have ever been given (not much lol).

Buying a house is the best decision you could make... In most instances, its putting your money into something that does not depreciate like a lead balloon (such as a car)...

how far away is Rockville from you? I live a half hour away and you can't be that much farther. and maybe you should've spoken up when we were picking a location. just come, don't act like an old man (seemed like an appropriate insult given the thread).

Rockville is an hour from me without trafffic. God knows what it is with traffic...

If I were to fly there, its only a few miles, but I have to go into DC, around, and then up 270...

I agree fully. The 335i is the first car I have ever bought that will depreciate. My very first car was a torn up 67 shelby gt500 which I spent 6 years restoring (Very good investment). The secound was a '79 MB 450SL (i bought it for $1500 sold it 3 months later for $4700). The third car is my '87 saleen. I have driven it for a long time... finally time to sell it. I should make some $$ on it. Not a lot but more then I paid for it. My forth car is my 69 429 - I got it 99% restored for an AMAZING deal (the person restoring it needed $$ quick and I had cash). I should hopefully be able to sell it for 4-5 times more then I paid for it. Then onto the BMW. When first looking at it/putting a deposit I had extremely weird/guilty feelings because I would be loosing money on it the secound I took it off the lot. I still feel a little weird with it... but having a new car (this is my first) is soooo nice its worth it.

As for housing... The market in Houston has been going up for a while which is causing overbuilding. I have some experience in real estate and by all accounts the market has reached its peak and should pop soon causing the prices to drop dramaticly. Once that happens I am going to buy one of the super nice new lofts that are being built right now for a price much lower then they are now.

I also feel ya on the investment thing... I did that when I was younger (recommendation from a close family member) and ever since bush has been in office even though I cant stand his politics he is paying for my new car (I am one of the few people who dont mind high gas/oil prices considering without them I wouldnt have my car). Recommendation to anyone... next time crude oil is down to $14 a barrel buy futures!!!!!

Everyone should have the BMW experience!

Financially independent here. This was my first BMW experience...I thought I'd try a 3 to see what all the hype was...now that I see it my next BMW will be a M-series in a few years. Got to run this piss out of this one first!

PS: The real estate comes first and foremost...trust me that's how I paid cash for my current and will pay cash for my future BMWs!

Intelligent man here...yes I concur, buy FUTURES when crude oil drops...or try reading Forbes, Morningstar or Smart Money for investments rather than reading about the Top 10 car for college students...who cares! LOL

I'm 27. I don't know if thats old or not, but I'm in the Army and I just came back from Iraq for the 3rd time.

I guess its all about what and how people spend their money. Instead of spending my money on plasma tvs or getting trashed everynight or going to the local whorehouse every other night, I grew out of that and know there are more important things in life.

Plus I'm the only guy on the base with the E92 cause everyone else automatically goes to get the Mustang GT.

My friend drove me down to Mildenhall in his Mustang GT so I could pick up my E90. I think I prefer the BMW. Correction: I do prefer the BMW.

To be completely honest, I was really looking hard at a GT500, but then I read the reviews and its a nice car and all, but.......its a Ford :-) The regular GT's only have like 255hp at the wheels and are clocked at like 5.6 in a 0-60. Wonder if a 330 is its match or not?
